Norm
Many tears have been shed over this photo. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif I think these were in Korea, maybe Vietnam.
philasteen
Ah yes, the old chestnut. Taken in the People's Republic of Vietnam, circa 10 years ago. Captured US weaponry.
froster
I wrote to the guy in England who said he shot the photos in 1989/1990 but was all secretive about where it was. It shouldn't need to be a secret anymore since he says they've been scrapped since then. He said the site was only allowed to run the photos on the condition that the location be kept secret. The odd thing is all the 30s and 40s European guns.
Mohawk
I'm going to meet the guy that runs the site tomorrow, so maybe he can shed some light on it. If it was captured american equipment, then the 30/40's euro stuff could have been French or South Vietnamese !
Mohawk
Definately Vietnam equipment left by the Americans, the pics were taken in 1979/80. Its all been melted down as scrap metal since.
Dennis Todd
There are several other piles of machine guns taken at the same time and place. They show similar mounds that include M16s, M60s,Miniguns and even Soviet DP28s, suggesting the VietNam war era, rather than Korea, or earlier conflicts.
