kck8385
Does it matter if the high side of the mag spring faces the front or back of the mag? I have @50 greasy mags I am about to clean and would like to put them back together correctly if it matters. Thanks, Kevin Edited October 12, 2007 by kck8385
kck8385
I put half the springs in high end toward front and half toward the rear. I will see if it matters when I shoot next. Kevin
Chromebolt
I don't know and hoped someone would have some info on this. When I removed the springs from my mags, I put them back the same way they came. IIRC, the upper part of the spring was toward the top, front of the mag. reconbob
I'm with Phil on this one. I don't think it matters because the follower is such a close fit, it can't tilt. Different story with a longer cartridge with a tapered case. BAR, FAL, and M-14 come to mind - they all have long cartridges, long followers, and springs with significant angles. If you put the springs on those in backwards the follower tilts the wrong way and the spring force is out of whack. But with the Thompson I would say doesn't matter.
