ROCK-OLA Box o' Magazines Quandry

Recommended Posts

Hi,

The serious collectors might know....If you have a sealed box that says:

MAGAZINE ASSEMBLY

GUN, U.S. CARBINE CAL. .30 MA.

ORD. DRWG. & PC. MK. - B - 212603

SNL. NO. B - 28

CODE INDEX NUMBER - 01- 00260

QUANTITY - 100

ROCK-OLA MFG. CORP.

The box likely contains 100 carbine magazines.

The quandry lies in what to do with the box. Is there any benefit to keeping the box sealed? Will it adversely effect the value if I open the box to look at one of the magazines?

Thoughts? Leave it sealed or is it time to open the time capsule.

Thanks in advance,

Grasshopper,

I vote for leaving it sealed, unless you are going to sell off the magazines. Coolness factor of 9-10!.

As a consumer, I would rather have an open box in tact with verified condition of the contents than an unopened box with a question mark.

Just one mans opinion for what it's worth,

Best

Larry

Grasshopper,

It certainly is unique to have a full case of R-O carbine mags, but if the need arises to sell, you will get more selling them individually than by the case. Unless you find the right buyer.

I just went thru this a year ago when an opportunity presented itself to buy a Colt Thompson. I had 2 cases of Winchester carbine mags that wasn't nearly as much fun to look at as a Thompson,so I decided to sell.

Time was an element and the best I could get for the lot was $15.00 ea. The dealer that bought them had a price of $30.00 ea.

I don't fell bad tho. I still have the Colt and the dealer probably pissed away the $3000.00 months ago.
