The Moor
Does anyone have the November 1991 edition of Machine Gun News? There is supposed to be an ad somewhere in that particular edition that lists a Thompson M1921 AC for sale. I need any and all information in the ad. (phone numbers, address, name, etc.)

Arthur Fliegenheimer
You might also need Mr. Peabody's "Way Back Machine."

The Moor
Trying to find who sold a particular Colt Thompson from that ad in the November 91 issue. I own the Thompson now and I would like to track its ownership back as far as possible. So far I know of 6 previous owners from various times back to 1976. There is a gap from 1991 back to about 1977 that I may be able to fill if I can talk to the person that sold it in 1991 (someone in Ill.?). Wayne W
MGN Vol 5 # 6 November 1991 There is three pages of classified ads with 4-5 ads that mention TSMGs but didn't see any with ILL. area codes. But , over on page 31 is a full page ad for, F.J. Vollmer & Company # 3 Towanda Rd Bloomington, IL 61701-3485 309/663-9494 The ad lists 20 1921 AC TSMGs with serial numbers and condition. I can fax the ad to you. Edited March 5, 2004 by Wayne W
farfuture
Sadly, Vollmers is now closed here in Bloomington IL. They were fun to visit when they were open (although their machinegun section was not a public area; MGs are illegal for citizens here in Illinois). Sig
Anyone got a collection of Machine Gun News that I can RENT so I can do some research? I am also looking for serial numbers and provenance on my Colt Thompson # 8061. I would need to search I am guessing no more than 3 years no later than 1980 (gotta look at an old Form 3 to double check that point). I would be willing to pay any shipping and insurance costs and a reasonable fee. Anyone here that can help me on this I would be most appreciative. thanks michael

I'm not sure with out digging out some older copies but I don't think MGN started till 1985 or so.
Sig
My other source would be Shotgun news but I have not had any hits on someone having that.
The Moor
QUOTE (farfuture @ Mar 5 2004, 03:04 PM) Sadly, Vollmers is now closed here in Bloomington IL. They were fun to visit when they were open (although their machinegun section was not a public area; MGs are illegal for citizens here in Illinois). Do you know the current status of Robbie or Fred and if they can be reached? The fax that Wayne W. provided definetly showed that my Colt was for sale by Vollmer's in November of 1991. I've got pretty good information on who it was sold to, but need to find out where Vollmer acquired it. Thanks.
Sig
This is interesting, Vollmer's has a web site. Now it may not be the original cast and crew I do not know. Vollmer
