I asked the googles and it says: "M for Strombeck-Becker of Moline IL "Whether this is true or not is beyond me, but it's interesting... Adg105200 Posted February 4, 2019 Report Share Posted February 4, 2019 It was mainly AOC as Savage/Stevens manufactured I believe about every part for their Thompsons. AOC didn't start production until after Savage and given their manufacturing capacity, it allowed them to continue making the bulk of the main parts like receivers, trigger frames, bolts etc. There is quite a number of other manufacturers that we're contracted to make Thompson parts, so it was really AOCs call and not the govt. to contract out parts.
