mgdoc8307
Belt is labelled " S.F.CO.Inc." 2nd line "1942" No markings on either of the 5 cell pouches. What might I have?
ron_brock
Pictures would be needed to make any determination. If pouches are void of any markeing (including inside the belt slide), they are probably original Lend Lease. Ron
mgdoc8307
Inside one of the two belt loops is "U.S."
LSU Tiger
The "S.F. Co, Inc." marking is from Froelisch, a contractor for web gear during WW II. I've seen them (in general, not just Froelisch) unmarked, marked on both sides of the outside belt loop, on the center flap, and marked on both sides of the inner loop. It's almost as if they marked them in a different place every day. Froelisch made everything from Thompsom 5 cell pouches to BAR belts to pistol belts, with many going to the Marines. As for the BAR belts these are marked with the year and the company name spelled out.
