Johnny.45
Hi, I have a complete blue bolt and a complete "bright" bolt plus plenty of spare bolt parts for replacement if/when needed. I have a question re:`which bolt to use in a TSMG "shooter". Is one bolt more preferable to the other for shooting and if so why? I really appreciate your opinions and experience. Thanks, Johnny
PK.
One is blued, one is not. Functionally they are identical. The blue one will resist rust only very little better than the bright one; both need oil to avoid corrosion and wear. The only real question is- which looks better to you? JimFromFL
Personally, I like the bright bolt better as it adds a bit of contrast to the receiver. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Johnny.45
Thank you all for the replies. So I guess the only difference is cosmetic and I should not believe the hype associated with the bright bolt being made of a more durable nickel/steel blend. Thought I read that somewhere. My Fault. I guess this post belongs in the dumb question section. Thanks for taking the time to respond PK, JimFromFL, & colt21a. I appreciate it.
