Compensators, which one to get?

Recommended Posts

hello all, Well I just picked up my new Thompson from the LGS and brought her home. Its nothing real special {other than it's a pistol}. Anyway, I got to looking at it and Isee that it's missing the compensator,so I get out my AO parts list and find that there are 2 listed. One is listed as threaded and the other not threaded {so I'm assuming that its a press fit}and they both made by Cutts. Now my question is..... Which one should I get ? Is one better than the other or both basically the same. Which is easier to put on too? Thankyou in advance

I can't really tell if the barrel is threaded or not cause its covered by the front sight ring. Also looks like the sight ring is pinned on to the barrel with 2 locater pins, but I am no expert on this

I am assuming from your post that you want to exchange the current front sight (ring type) with a compensator type. You would need to buy the Kahr compensator which is NOT threaded. I believe Kahr only offers the pin type anyway. Your barrel is not threaded. Beware, if you buy the compensator from Kahr, make sure you buy the front sight with it.
