  1. The drums at numrich and sarco are one and the same I have one from each vendor .
  2. I wouldn't advise milling the receiver...there is not much metal there at all . Without looking up dimensions I'm going to say around .100 thou . And that's the end of the gun that takes a pounding from the bolt blowback...especially if you go with lighter pull springs.
  3. The mag catch is in the usgi position , what's different is the upper receiver is .100 thousands shorter in height so unless you elongate the hole in mag ,the magazine is .100 too tall
  4. The only part that keeps the leaf from moving is the little PC of spring steel with the plunger on it . If the spring is week or the tip of plunge is worn down. Last I new numrich had them for a few bucks each.
  5. Unless its warranty work just buy the bolt and it drops in .... Shopkahrfirearmsgroup.com 165 bucks
  6. My tm1 was usgi barrel threads. And a full auto barrel has a looser chamber....so fail to feed are a lot less frequent. I got my barrel from numrich and had very good luck.
  7. The thread you are referring to is a 14-24 As you say it is an outdated thread form Hard to find , a 1/4 x 24 tap will work in a pinch
  8. Usually kahr uses red loc tite all over the barrel threads and grip mount slots Heat gun and MUSCLE
  9. There is a lot of you tube videos out there in interweb land....that show / instruct how to make 45 acp blanks. And red dot seems to be the powder choice Looks to be time consuming the first time around , making the brass from a 308 case. Second time reloading mAy be quiicker. I've never tried it so no experience
  10. Reloads with 230 grain plated copper Or powder coated 230 grain lead cast bullets On top of 5 to 5.4 grains of w231. My tm1 runs excellent on it. Never tried the steel case stuff Aluminum runs fine . I prefer the OEM springs with a longer charging handle. Others have had really good results from the ex pull spring replacement. I tried the mcmaster carr setup with springs and buffer pad but found I was having fail to feed a lot. Once the action started to get dirty a bit (around a couple of mags thru it.)mine runs almost flawless on the OEM springs. Any issues with feeding are generally mag related.
  11. Because the non removable mag on the rebuild means he can have 1 of his evil items back ....like the pistol grip...lol
  12. Have you tried it ? Does it feed and function as it should ? If yes .. Do you really want to send it back thru the mail ? And risk even more damage ? Get them to send you a new rear sight and a bolt handle
  13. And if ya try it without the firing pin or firing pin spring in, it will slam shut so fast it will crush the round just as it leaves the feed ramp and into the barrel. It only works when it's completely assembled .
  14. A FA PARTS KIT has very few pcs that will drop into a semi auto thompson from AOC (Kahr) The safety lever A barrel The pistol grip wood And the m1 buttstock The front and rear sight. And the mag catch lever That's pretty much it
  15. Problem will be finding a genuine gi grip mount . Or any 1/2 inch grip mount they pretty scarce. Not to mention if you do find one it will cost the best part of a Benjamin. Waffenmeister has decent repos for under 70 bucks
  16. If the bolt was properly hardened it could withstand a butt load more misfeeds than basically 1 box of ammo Send it back to kahr They'll send you a new one Tell you also want a free mag or two for your trouble
  17. Mine runs much better on the full auto replacement barrel .bigger chamber at the bolt end by a few thou Like almost perfect. That little fat 45 likes a lot of wiggle room on it's way in the chamber
  18. I just use a slightly longer charging handle and it makes it so much easier to pull the bolt back. I first went with lighter springs but found that as the gun got dirty it started having fail to feed issues after a couple hundred rounds. Clean worked ok but a typical Range session of 300 to 500 rounds would make for a lot of misdeeds the dirtier it got. With the OEM springs that never happens , no matter how crusty the action gets with powder residue.
