  1. Jim the Crosby drum has already been sold to a fellow board member.
  2. SOLD - mailed out 06-10-2011 http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z46/blueline541/Oldfart1.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z46/blueline541/Old2.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z46/blueline541/Old4.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z46/blueline541/Old3.jpg 50 round Thompson drum by Auto Ordnance Corporation - not a reproduction. The L drum is in overall fair to good condition, dent free, with worn places on the finish as well as numerous smaller scuffs. The finish appears to be original and does not appear to be painted like some I've seen. This is the drum I always used with my Thompson and it never gave me a single problem. The lower front reads WIND 9 OR 11 CLICKS with the Thompson logo above it. The upper front reads MAGAZINE TYPE "L" THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN 50 CARTRIDGES CAL .45 FOR 1928 MODEL WIND TO 9 OR 11 CLICKS The upper back reads AUTO-ORDNANCE CORP. BRIDGPORT, CONNECTICUT REGISTERED IN THE U.S. PATENT OFFICE A large letter "U" is located beneath the above. $400 shipped for my vintage L drum. Postal money order only.

  9. I have several original WWII era mags in good condition I'm going to sell, but I'm not clear on what price makes them move. These are Thompson mags.
  10. I probably know less about Thompsons than the vast majority of men here, but even I recognize those grips to be beyond jacked up. They almost hurt my eyes.
  11. Today I received notification that the post office attempted to deliver my thompson while I was away. I tracked down the mail deliverer up the road and brought the gun home. I sent PK an old mule of a '28 Thompson several months back, and he returned to me a race horse. The work this man does is brilliant, and I can't wait to try it out. Also, the man is fantastic to deal with. He kept me updated and always responded to any email I sent. Was it worth the wait? Every minute. Thanks PK.
  12. The agent told me that at one time his office had two, but one was recalled and "crushed" sometime in the past. He claims that the one he has access to is the last Thompson to have been used by an FBI agent to kill someone. I have no idea if that is true, but he is an agent.
  13. The lower case "I" in the thread title is rediculous, but I can't change it now.
  14. We had a robbery very recently, and as a result I had a conversation with an FBI agent tonight. The subject of Thompsons came up, and he mentioned that his office still has one. He stated he knows nothing about them, but he believes this one has "Navy and 1928" on it. He went on to say that this particular Thompson, which is in fantastic condition, was used to kill a bank robber in Knoxville years ago. Says all of it is documented, etc. As I was walking out of the office he stopped me. He said he liked my sincere interest in the Thompson, and then said he'd bring it by the station for me to look at. I'm going to pester him until he does, and then I'll report back with what I find out.
