  1. We need to HIRE that writer to help us tell the truth. Wonder what it would take. Jeez that was well written and without pulling out the books seemed WELL researched off of the top of my ancient forgetful mind.
  2. What are the legal requirements if any regarding a display gun and muzzle or barrel being painted or marked red? (Yes Colt Thompson - Doug Richardson receiver) If you can be specific on the location of the legal requirements being federal or otherwise by state that would be appreciated? thanks michael
  3. One Colt nickel oiler http://home.cogeco.ca/~msigillito/Nickel%20oiler.jpg
  4. What belongs there is a Nickel oiler if a Colt. Let me work on a picture.
  5. I knew the tissue paper was not right. Someone in the past did that I think to keep the pressure off of the shell cover itself. I will rearrange them as described the right way, thanks Fred and Lionhart!! Thanks everyone
  6. Hey if anyone ever saw the inside of one of these before was there something holding the shells? Curious because of the tissue paper how they were placed inside. thanks michael
  7. I was lucky enough to find a box of shot shells, thought I would share it with everyone as you do not see them often. http://home.cogeco.ca/~msigillito/ss1.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~msigillito/ss2.jpg
  8. Anybody have handy the diameter of a C drum? thanks michael
  9. If you think that is a shock, check out the rest of these. Get the kleenex ready. The other Annoy ads from Black River Militaria web site
  10. Sten guy Here is a link to an ad with the Thompsons you are asking about that is from 1977. Law Enforcement Ordnance Company (LEO) was very active in Thompsons. Roger Cox owned LEO or maybe was partners with someone not sure which but I know he was the main buyer and seller. Look at the consecutive pair listings, your items sought are the 1st ones. Hope that helps. michael LEO ad from Blackriver Militaria web site
  11. I point to the sentence taken directly from the online bid form for J.C. Devine below. NOW that does not mean I think J.C. Devine gets a get out of jail card on the issues raised here for free BUT this is their disclaimer. The bigger issue for them is getting potential sellers and buyers of Thompsons in the future since I am going to bet we are the only group going over the details like this. michael I understand that J. C. Devine, Inc. will execute my bids as a convenience and will not be held responsible for any errors or failure to execute bids.
  12. Well anyone know the results of the auction?
  13. Thanks Mike I send a letter some time ago to that address with no luck. I did not have an email address. I am going to email and call him in that order.
  14. Looking for contact information on a Robert C. Chordar Sr. Bob's Gun Shop 1020 Kenmore Blvd Akron, OH 44314 He transfered a Colt Thompson I have in early 1982. I am attempting to see if he might have additional information on my Colt. Appreciate any input thanks michael
  15. I know this is a stretch but just checking to see if anyone here has any clue where one could find old copies of Shotgun News so I could do some research. I did attempt to contact Shotgun News by email with no response ever and I have yet to figure out their phone system.
  16. This is interesting, Vollmer's has a web site. Now it may not be the original cast and crew I do not know. Vollmer
  17. Ron Arthur beat me to it. 6502 shows in Gordon's book as yours at one time.
  18. My other source would be Shotgun news but I have not had any hits on someone having that.
