  1. Good day, I am seeking to do some trading with some of my firearms for a customized Auto Ordnance 1927A1 Thompson. The modifications I would find preferable would be that it has been fit with an original 1928 lower frame, bolt hold open capability, barrel shortened to 16",original Lyman sight, EZ pull springs, ect. I have quite a few firearms to choose from including a pre ban Springfield Armory SAR 8, Colt WW1 "reissue",Garand ect. Thank you for looking!
  2. A pleasure,Sir. I am newer as well. Enjoy as there is a vast amount of information and pleasant folks here as well.
  3. Thank you very much for the update and information gentlemen,I appreciate it. It is nice to hear that the rifle is making progress toward production and is still a viable possibility as well. Until then,I will keep purchasing magazines and parts. Sometimes good things come to those who wait
  4. Some time ago, I emailed Mr. Polston about reserving one of his semi autos when they are ready to be sold, And have never heard back from him. Does anyone know if this product is still in the works or have any updates? Thank you very much.
  5. Mine is the same as described as well. The only detraction is that I will have to touch up the milled off area where the Thompson logo was, As it is about 30% bare steel. I am suprised that Kahr did not make them take the word "Thompson" off the box as well I believe at this price,I will order another.
  6. I ordered one of these last week when The1930sRust posted about the availabilty of these in another thread.Hard to beat the price, Mine is supposed to be here Wednesday.
  7. gijive, The issue,Unfortunately, with the ladder itself. The "lean" it exhibits is evident in the up position,And when it is down in the sight bed as well.
  8. Thank you for the input gentlemen,I appreciate it! I think I will get ahold of them tomorrow and see if they can exchange it. They seem to be a good company to deal with.
  9. Although I do not even posess a Thompson yet,I decided last week to order a M1928 Lyman sight assembly from Rguns. It was delivered by UPS today and I am extremely impressed! Although obviously oily and greasy,It appears to be as new with only a few little marks to the finish on the sight base. These little gems are truly works of art,Especially when one considers that no CNC is involved,Just good old American precision and craftsmanship. I notice that the rear sight ladder seems to have a slight "cant" to the right when fully elevated,I assume this is normal?
  10. Thank you all very much for your suggestions and advice. It appears that I will acquiring a semi now, As I ordered a 1928 rear sight assembly yesterday for Rguns and currently have nothing to put it on .
  11. Thank you very much Gentlemen for your input and opinions,I value them! If for some reason I do decide to go with a new Kahr model can I replace the rear sight assembly with an original Lyman assembly just utilizing the original screw method of attachment? If I settled on one of the Kahr guns that would be something I would like to immediately upgrade.
  12. Approximately 13 years ago I purchased a West Hurley 1927A1 new in box,Had numerous issues with it and sold it. I am again considering purchasing another semi auto variant but am hesitant due to the issues that Kahr has exhibited in their product,And their lackluster customer service reputation. The two paths I am considering in picking up a newer Kahr model 1927A1 with the detachable stock, Or picking up a used West Hurley/Kahr and having it worked over (shortened barrel to 16",M1928A1 lower, bolt hold open, ect). What on average,May I ask does it usually cost to have one redone in this fashion? I would much prefer to go either with an original Thompson,Or a semi SBR "Thompson" but as I live in Washington State,This is not an option. Thank you very much for your assistance and input.
