Trying to help out a friend. Her father passed and she has his West Hurley. She is now going through the transfer process. She took it to a class 3 dealer before she came to me. The dealer put it in his safe. She didn't have one in the house.I have never followed the West Hurley's.. What would be a asking price range. I don't know condition or the serial number yet. Thanks Bill

Need to buy/borrow .750-28 Compensator Thread tap
bnew replied to atc310r's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
FYI: There are 3 types of taps; bottoming, plug and tapper. It depends on what you need. But the thread should be the same. I just tapped a flash hider for a Ruger 10/22 and used a 1/2 28 taper tap. Reading on all the boards I was seeing the same stuff. You need a special tap. Well I did it and it worked fine. That's my own 2 cents hope it helps. -

"Colt refinished" Thompson? Is this possible?
bnew replied to philasteen's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
FYI, Bought a Colt 1911; WWI reissue. I never fired it but the blue came off on the front. I called Colt and they said send it back. Did a great job. The finish was the bluing done prior to WWI. I heard they farmed out these guns to get the original finish. He will not confirm or deny that he did them but it was a person that restores guns. Can't remember his name off hand. But I did speak to him and he did do some work for me on an old saddle ring Winchester carbine, Circa 1908. His work is unbelievable, but a premium. -

I agree, if it could be pinned to the board. There a few projects I could see myself doing. -
