  1. I have shot SN 3363. It is a Colt Navy with military internals. Stock is a Remington and Upper and lower match. gun is in decent shape considering the Racine PD has used it quite a bit. Gun was in some lame ART display and not cared for so PD claimed it back and put into current display. I have considerable pictures and video of the gun. Anyone interested contact me Jerry
  2. Why would anyone screw up a war baby like the one you have. I have one just like yours. It was carried by a GI in the 101 and brought it back about the same time yours came into the country. It has rust and grime on it from its days defending you and me. I would rather cut it up than refinish it or add some lame 28 parts to it. Ask your self one thing???? how did that gun get to Viet Nam and who carried it on both sides in the french indonesian war we call Viet Nam. Did some french soldier die defending a post with that gun or was it used in WW2 and then sent to SOEA as some drop to a troop at the last ditch stand at the top of the hill. Some VC might have carried it and got killed defending a position. Think of all the posibilities. Jerry
  3. I have shot the racine DJ Thompson. It is a 1921/8 overstamp Navy colt . Finish is 50% and maintained as a Racine transferable firearm. Most of the internals are a hoge poge of 1928 military parts. The stock is an orrigional 21 Remington stock that JD wrote his name into with what looks like a ball point pen(??????) Ballpoints were not in supply until later. Don't know what JD used but it was round pointed thing that made a nice signature. Gun shoots for shit because of some poor mags associated with the gun. Put a drum into it and it shoots OK. JD would have been better not doing Thompsons because of maint and limited mags for it. Racine PD has a lott of JD stuff including orrigional warrents and posters. They also have registration papers for the gun. Locals don't realy see anything about owning a piece of history. They even put the gun in some liberal ART display afew years ago. It is currently in the Racine PD on display. I have photos if interested Best Jerry Severson
