  1. I saw it at the Auburn Police department a few months ago. don't know if they sent it out before Gordon died or not. The restoration would have been challenging. It had been deactivated many years ago, but the FBI burned a Dime sized hole in the left side if the receiver with a stick welder before they retuned it to Aubun
  2. I was on business at the Aburn Courthouse, so when I was done I walked across the street to Aburn Police Dept. and asked if I could see the Dillinger gun #8946. Took a few pics and asked for copies of any purtenent documents. here are the pics. was told the FBI didn't want to give the gun up, and they did the hole in the reciever just recently. Gordon is scheduling the restoration.
  3. Looking for one of the rocker mag releases. Someone was thinking about making a batch a few years ago, were they ever made?
  4. Here's my T48 on type 3 Imbel receiver and my M1. Both stalled projects. One waiting on the correct barrel/receiver the other on a Form 1 to clear. I also have an STG58 I made 15 years ago.
  5. I recently acquired a parts kit for a H&R T48 minus barrel and receiver. Does anyone make a Fal receiver that takes the inch magazines. Am looking at modifying a metric, but it looks tricky and I want to use the HRA mag.
  6. 101st airborne climbing onto C47. M1 is most prominent thing in picture.
  7. I did clarify where the "dealer sample" was seen, it was Washington court house, OH gun show, early 60s. But further thoughts what about the fancy X carbines or the one of nine Garands made for executives. Both the buttplate and latch of the slide assembly have a P stamp.
  8. The reason I speculated that it was a dealer sample was because an older gentleman with a Wealth of knowledge once told me that the nicest Thompson he had ever seen was a Savage dealer sample bearing no serial # just an S where it should have been. He implied that it was probably not registered.
  9. I am waiting on my Form 1 to reactivate a Savage M1. I will need a barrel, buttplate, and milled sling swivel. The stock came from Bob Sauerman and I believe came off of a Savage dealer sample. It is stamped on wood and metal with #918 and Ps
  10. 2nd try. I know it is at least 30 years old and I once took it apart and there is a # stamped in the wood. If anyone is interested will trade for parts
  11. Well My form 5 on a Savage M1 cleared in just less than 5 weeks, must be some sort of record! now My search for parts needs to accelerate, I have filed My Form 1 and hope it goes through as fast. Looked down the barrel and it appears that there was a rod inserted through the Grip Mount, the breech was welded shut, and the barrel tacked to the reciever. So I am looking for a Grip Mount and barrel, if anyone can help with this let me know. Met some of the Thompson guys at the NRA Meeting seemed like a great bunch. Thanks
