  1. Sorry I just now saw this... It was $350 and is sold... I paid that for it before the cost to ship if from England... I had more money than brains at the time of my life... Just wanted you to know I wasn't ignoring you, just this thread..... No worries, thanks for the response
  2. Your previous thread was taken over by a kindergarten. It's funny that they got so off topic, good luck finding out what your looking for. I remember seeing other repros, I'll do some looking.
  3. Strictly defensively speaking, the best firearm is the one you only have to fire once.... Well two .45 ACP rounds placed inches apart at the same second does not need a follow up shot lol....
  4. Thank you as always dalbert... I will order the book ASAP... I love the book I received from you btw thanks again...
  5. http://www.ohioordnanceworks.com/Books_Manuals.cat Try this place. Jim C 351 They have it, but I thought American Thunder was what I needed? Is American Thunder II the same thing?
  6. I can't find the bOok for sale, otherwise I probably wouldn't have so many questions your right
  7. Stupid yes... Impractical yes... But don't you think it at the very least would be interesting and fun to shoot?
  8. That's exactly what I was thinking of.... Can I use a normal Thompson swivel or is that a special item?
  9. Interesting I would like to see them in action
  10. Do you have pictures? Or perhaps where to order the part?
  11. I checked out the video and manufacturer... I kinda want one for weird/cool factor... I would be the only one of my friends with one that's for sure lol....
  12. That would be much cheaper, can you still find the machine to modify cases? Does shortened .308 feed properly?
  13. Dan block makes excellent wood grips I would talk to him... He just made me a buttstock and it's worth every penny. Are you guys talking about the barrel band on the horizontal front grip? If so weaponssgt, who posted earlier on this thread has a ETO pic of a guy with the barrel band on the fore grip. Does anyone have examples or ideas on how to put a sling mount on the front vertical pistol grip for a 1928? (I'm building one from a kahr 1927, but still want a sling without going to a horizontal front grip.) thanks
  14. CCI makes .45 ACP rounds that use a #9 shot. They are in what I think is an aluminum case and they are not reloadable. When I worked at a cabelas I purchased a box of 10 and took them to the range with my 1911 for fun. They were effective against paper, but other then that not terrible powerful. I now carry my 1911 as a "snake" gun while hunting instead of my little .410 derringer. I haven't fired it at a snake yet so I dunno if it will be effective or not. Here is a link to buy some... http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/64455-5.html Hope this helps...
  15. Thank you... Once again typo it should have been 100 20 round boxes...
  16. There is no crate for loose ammunition or prefilled magazines. From 1920 - 1942 ammunition was packed in 20 round cartons of which 100 were packed in a wood crate with a metal liner for a total of 2000 rounds. In 1943 the Army switched to the more commonly known 50 round box. 12 of these were put in a sealed "Spam" can (600 rounds) with two of those then packed in a wood crate. Photos of all can be seen in Meadows' US Military Automatic Pistols 1920-1945. The arsenals did not pack ammunition in separate crates specifically designated for Thompsons. I don't think those ones from boardwalk empire have any historical accuracy. By "loose" I meant packaged in the 100 round boxes. Sorry I should have specified. I consider loose rounds simply being not loaded in mags. The 1911 crates I have we're packaged that was with the metal lining. I have not seem the spam cans for .45 just for enblocs in bandoliers. I will have to ad that meadows book to my list which seems to be growing and growing. So all crates were labelled .45 for 1911?
  17. I received my book in the mail today... Thank you so very much. I have not flipped through it yet, but it looks great from what I have seen. I think anyone with a Thompson or on this forum should own one. Thank you so very much...
  18. Yea, looks like I have another book to buy...
