  1. To the best of my knowledge, Hoppes is a solvent, not an oil. Meaning it is good at removing fouling and cleaning the metal, but an oil is required for lubricating bearing surfaces and protection from corrosion. I use Remington Oil for that.
  2. Makes sense. Photos showing early examples of Navy swivels also tend to have the rear one obscured, since they tend to depict people holding or shouldering it in positions that cover that area.
  3. There has been much discussion as to the Enfield swivels used on early horizontal foregrips. My (likely stupid) question is, were the same swivels used on the rear point for these guns as well? Thanks.
  4. While we are talking about mags, I am on the hunt for full auto 20 rounders with soldered holes or British makings, or 30 rounders that are V marked.
  5. What is the most reasonably priced place to get one of these kits these days?
  6. I have rainbow, leopard spot, and unicorn print paper stock available. They're fabulous.
  7. Does anyone currently on the board own one of the Winchester 42 round "For Sub Machine Gun" .45 boxes shown in the sticky? If so I would very much appreciate dimensions , as I am trying to reprocuce these for a display. Thanks in advance!
  8. Beautiful! Looks like the grip swivel may have switched sides at one pont.
  9. Tried to contact him, he will only do them in white...
  10. Made it clear I understand that. My question os, why always England?
  11. I have recently seen for sale a number of web carry bags with the attached "British" designation. They are of a type I had thought was only found in repro fantasy pieces, the kind which have individual flaps for 30 round magazines. I understamd the motivation behind taking a repro item and selling it as original, but why does this same country of supposed origin keep popping up? Perhaps just the mystique, or the assumption that novice collectors may accept these cases as "foreign variations"? Here is an example... http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=180901934147
  12. Looking for a good condition 1928 (not M1) rear grip and pivot plate. WWII parts are fine. I know of Omega and Numrich but it would be nice to know what Im getting instrad of one off the pile. Im sure someone has some of these lying around they're not using. Thanks!
  13. Quick one here...Could one Put a full auto pivot plate on a semi to achieve a more authentic look? It would serve no mechanical function, but the semis do not have the extra 'finger' a FA one does. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, as I am somewhat ignorant as to what function the two shapes of plate have.
