  1. Unfortunately, I do not have the list, information about the 13 magazines I read in one of the gun forums. Perhaps something interesting on this topic can be found at this site. Compensator is not standard accessory, but the silencer - was. Attachment picture of the advertising catalog, published in the Russian Empire. It shows a Winchester 1907 with a silencer, and its advertising claims that the silencer pure hunting (!) purpose. Yes, Winchester compensator is very similar to the compensator Colt Monitor. Regards, Darkside
  2. Very interesting information and photos! Silencer was a regular acessory for this rifle, so that its use was very likely. To the best of my memory, in St. Paul apartment was found 13 loaded 20 rd. magazines for Winchester 1907. Also 15 rd. and 20rd. magazines was popular in Cuba together with similar full-auto modifications Winchester 1907. In fact, this was one of the first assault rifles. Thank you for your help!
  3. Of course, this is a very specific weapon. I think it is of interest primarily as one of the first examples of micro submachine guns – predecessors of Ingram M10, PM-63, Micro Uzi, etc. In fact, this is one of the first PDW.
  4. Yes, this book - a Russian translation of the German guide. Unfortunately, there is nothing written about this modification Colt M1911A1, and provided only drawing. In addition to the information about experiments on basis of Lebman’s Colt, I read about modification of William Swartz in .38 Super and .45 ACP, but little about it is known. This modification has a shoulder stock. Thanks for the info, it's very interesting!
  5. OCM, please, tell me, do you know, the full-auto Lebman Winchester 1907 has fire-selector? 10-round magazine is too small for a normal automatic fire. Maybe, uses a 20-round magazine, like on this photo? http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/5539/win07tr.jpg I also read, that Homer Van Meter once used silencer of Maxim, attached instead of the compensator. Regards, DarkSide
  6. OCM, thank you very much! Yes, this is very interesting, and, unfortunately, insufficient disclosure topic. In the book "Small arms yesterday" there is a very interesting picture. http://i49.tinypic.com/307n3et.jpg Probably, this is Colt's experimental model based on the Lebman's M1911. Full-auto Winchester 1907, I believe, is discussed in this thread? I will write about this gun in this thread. Regards, DarkSide
  7. OCM, thanks for the interesting exclusive information and pictures. If you do not mind, please, answer a few questions. 1) Different sources indicate that Lebman Colt mini sub machine gun has 2 versions: .45 ACP caliber with 18-round extended magazine and .38 Super caliber with 22-round extended magazine. What is the caliber of the gun in the photo above (Lebman_Pistol_1___001), and what - the Lebman mini sub machine gun here (Lebman_Pistol_4__007)? 2) Based on these photos, Lebman Colt mini sub machine gun with fire selector was converted from M1911A1, and gun without selector based on the M1911. But the .38 Super Colts made only on the base of M1911A1. Consequently, Lebman guns was chambering under .38 Super from original .45 ACP caliber? 3) Some sources reported that Lebman converted 5 pistols. This number is correct? 4) Different sources indicate a different rate of fire - 700, 750-800, 900-1000, and 1200 rounds per minute. What is it for your data? Also, would be grateful to you for Lebman mini sub machine gun other characteristics (length, weight, etc.). 5) You write that Dillinger gun had a fire selector and Baby Face Nelson was only full-auto, but judging by the photos, it was the opposite. Perhaps I misunderstood your message? 6) According to the diagram above, Cutts compensator was fixed on slide, not barrel. Is that correct? Regards, DarkSide25
