  1. Perhaps you would not have used an M1 trigger frame, but you are aware that the 1921Thompson in question would still function and therefore the armourer that used that part kept it working. Perhaps your definition of an armourer is not the same as mine? A maker, supplier, or repairer of weapons or armour. Who wants an apology? D
  2. I have seen the photos on facebook and it appears that the barrel and front sight are the orginal Colt used parts. It would be interesting to see if the bolt is an original one, or a later 28 replacement. Pete Burdain, an armourer would have used any parts available to keep the gun working and by your standard that makes them witless? Perhaps you should stick to the history of the 1921 in question and keep your political views private. The last Colt 1921 for sale in the UK sold for £10,000 a few years back, but it was a live firearm in great condition. D
  3. Hi MK VII Thanks for the extra information on Colt No 880 D
  4. It's nce to know you have Colt Thompson number 935! D
  5. Hi Larry, Thanks for the information on 880, at least I know when they got 880 now. This is the info that used to be on the IWM databse for 936? History Note: Part of the IRA's 1921 purchase of 495 Thompsons, which was the Auto-Ordnance Corporation's first major sale. Inferred from the serial number Physical description Firing pin cut, barrel drilled The question is will the Thompson in the IWM be accepted as Thompson gun number 936 and will the database on this site be updated? I don't know if any of the 3 ex IRA 1921 Thompsons are on display in the museum, but none of them were viewable the last time I went to the museum. I emailed the museum i n 2014 and I was told they were not currently on display, but the museum had plans to do something on the troubles in Ireland. D
  6. Hi Larry, I am doing OK, but most of my Thompson's have been sold, due to the EU bs D
  7. Yes TD you are right 936 is blank, that print is so small to my eyes How about 880? Does Gordon's book have anything on that one because I have not seen it listed at the IWM until now. D
  8. The Imperial War Museum London listing : 383 5/18/21 Amer Rail Exp CO. N.Y. G.G Rourke 2nd Shipment (Old listing) Now the online collections lists these ex IRA 21 Thompson numbers 880 6/7/21 Amer Rail Exp CO. N.Y. G.G Rourke 2nd Shipment http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30029260 This next one is really interesting, as the site claims it is gun number 936 http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30029433 936 is listed in The Ultimate Thompson book "Home to Mother" serial numbers listing on page 716, as an order for Santa Maria Cal Police Dept. What does Gordon's book say about this early 1921? (I made a mistake here, as Thompson number 935 is the Santa Maria gun) This was the old photo of the gun the museum claims is 936. I am inclined to believe the museum are correct about the serial number.
  9. Hello Casper, A coffee would be nice, but I am not coming to Belgium to get it. I think I rest my case on this issue too. D
  10. Casper, First of all you appear to have a lack of respect for fellow board members, as you do not address people properly at all? All I can go on about is AK47's? that is complete nonsense? Do please share this evidence with me and all board members proving that deactivated AK47's were converted and used in terrorist attacks in Europe, as I will be forwarding your remarks and evidence to people who have a vested interest in these issues within the UK. D
  11. Casper, Facts are facts and you are not right about the A47's used in the Paris attacks, please do some research? Converting a blank firer back to live is a lot easier than converting an AK47 that has been deactivated. My 1921 is an old specification deactivation and not live firing.... Your point is? As for taking things personal you called the English pigheaded did you not? If we want out of the EU that is up to the people of England and no other country. D
  12. with all respect Ron, but we don't have to take lessons about gun laws from the UK, their laws have been alot stronger than our own Belgian laws, and this for a much longer time. the new deactivation regulations is what you get when people are buying deact AK47's , rebuild them and use them against civilians. As much as I advocate freedom and liberty, these facts can't simply be ignored. the problem as i see it with the EU: never underestimate stupid people in large numbers. We had a decent thing going before the fall of the iron curtain. The numbers went larger with the wrong countries, If the EU was made out of the western European countries (as it was in the beginning) things could have been great! now about BREXIT, well the Brittisch have always been a bit pigheaded, I do understand them, but I don't think it will help them in the long run, the days of the great Brittish empire have been long gone, with a Brexit, they will get more isolated than they have ever been. Maybe a new order with the UK, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, France and maybe Austria...........wouldn't that be a good thing? Casper, You do not have your facts right at all, as the AK47's used in the Paris attacks on Charlie Hebdo were not deactivated weapons they were in fact blank firing guns from Eastern Europe, these guns were meant for the film industry and you are repeating the same stories told by the scaremongers of the EU. Your comments about England are beneath contempt. D
  13. http://www.worldwidearms.com/new-important-deactivation-news/t10/ All I have left is my 1921 For me the battle is over D
  14. Anyone can sign this petition, even those that reside outside of the EU. Can we please keep posts on subject! Regards, D
