Quality Control?
pedal2metal replied to Mainecoon's topic in Thompson Semi-Auto Discussion Forum (West Hurley & Kahr Semis)
LOL, I should Photoshop it. (j/k) I know, I hate it & have NEVER fired it in public due to the lame look! My brother had his semi Krink legalized a couple of yrs ago and I wish I could do the same. (He got lucky, they never cashed his check, but he has the stamp) I'm still laid-off from my last job & am in school full-time working towards a new career... so I can't justify the $200 just yet, unfortunately. I paid $750 for my M1 back in late '98 (mine was built in '97) and it has always fired fine for me; I'm sure they cost alot more now, but it still looks weird to me... and it hides in the safe. lol -

The longer you put it off, the worse it's going to get. It takes forever as it is. May as well have the ball in their court, as you wait. One boring and rainy Saturday, I decided to just finish the form and get it sent off. So glad I did. I know... I've put it off for 15 yrs now. ugh... I've got to get cracking w/ it! -

Looks awesome, man! I remember you saying that you were thinking about going the sbr route. I still keep putting it off for my m1a1; maybe sometime soon! -

Also, besides Green Mtn, IMA (international Military Antiques) out of NJ has new "correct style" blued M1 barrels for $140 w/ free S/H; (it was $132 last wk, I'm pretty sure- so they went up slightly); Still a good deal! http://www.ima-usa.com/u-s-thompson-smg-m1-m1a1-45-barrel.html -

Your last statement made me laugh. I can relate to that sentiment; I've had my AO M1A1 since '98 and always shot it privately since I hated the look of it. I'm finally going to get the SBR paperwork done here soon... I keep putting it off. -

Good Q! I'd be interested to know, as well -
Here ya go. It's in excellent shape. The price was no bargain but I got to look it over before buying it and took it home with me. Works for me!! That price doesnt sound bad at all, heck, I paid 8 something for mine back in 1998 at a gun show, and at the time it was 1 yr. old, but still looked fine.

So cool; looks great! I bought my M1 back in 1998 (its a '97 model) at a gun show on a whim and am now just getting around to the sbr paperwork. I think they look 100% better w/ the correct length barrels; it's pretty dumb when you think about the hoops to jump through... what a silly law. My brother did a Krink a few yrs ago and that got me back into it. Is doing it as a trust faster? Some say yes... Anyways, you guys have helped inspire me to do it.

Hey guys, This is my first post; I've owned my AO semi since 1998, (I think it was made in the early to mid 90s). Anyways, I think I'm going to finally get around to sending in my paperwork to do the sbr since I can not stand looking at it w/ the long barrel! Can you guys post some photos of your engraving jobs? Thanks, Royce
