  1. Magazines for the Type-14 have 8 different variations. Not only did they match the pistol by arsenal/factory manufacturer, but by last three digits of the serial number and finally the inspection marks found on both the pistol frame and magazine. Depending on the date code of the pistol and variations some do not even fit properly. You can have one that matches by the numbers but if the variation is wrong or if the inspection marks are wrong it is referred to as a force match and should not be considered matching to the pistol.
  2. I am looking for the magazine release for a H&R Model 165. This is the older style release as the newer style (used on the 150, MC58) doesn't work on the Models 65, 165 & 151. Just missing the thumb release for a great little rifle.
  3. Now that is what I call a Reising day at the range! I have shot a model 50 but don't own one, that is on the list as well. Thanks for sharing!
  4. Years run from 1943 through 1958. Thanks to all for the comments. Japanese pistols are really my forte but as a Marine I also started collecting Marine Corps marked weapons. That lead to the MC58 and as I studied more that lead to the Mod 65 at which time I just kind of feel into that rabbit hole. Would love to add an early 65 to my collection as well as a still boxed MC58. Of course the hunt is on for any of the original manuals and such. Yup, I'm hooked!
  5. This past weekend I set up a Reising 22 rifle display at the Alabama Gun Collectors Association (AGCA) show at Birmingham Al. Display was just my small collection ranging from Model 65s though the MC58. Also, display a bit of background info on the rifles and David Albert provided me with his lasted list of observed rifle range. I also displayed the different magazines used by these rifles. Received a large number of great comments as many folks had never seen these rifles and many told me they had them in their youth. One of the most heard comments was how accurate they are, could only agree with them on that subject. Also, won $125.00 prize money for the display which helped pay for the trip. Enjoy the photos and as always your comments are welcome.
  6. Saw two (20 rd) at the AGCA Birmingham AL show this past weekend (9&10 July 16) at $150.00 each :-(
  7. This forum was recommended to me by David and I thought it was about time I introduced myself and shared with ya'l my small collection of Reising 22's. As you might be able to tell by my handle I am really a Japanese Nambu collector but one of my other major interests is USMC used weapons (yes, I am a retired Marine no less). With my interest in USMC weapons I purchased my first MC-58 a number of years ago and that was all it took for my collecting and shooting blood to start to put together a small Reising 22 collection. As ya'l are very aware, the more you learn (or should I say try and learn) the more you need one of this example and then one of that example. And yes I have shot almost everyone of these. I did a display at one of our local shows a few weeks back and thought I would post a few photos. Sorry, that some of photos didn't turn out that great as they were quick shots with my phone camera and I needed to recreate the rifle display for you to get a better idea of how they looked.
