  1. I have one of these for both AR 5.56 mags and M1A 7.62 mags. Excellent cra and material. carries over the should you need to bug out. https://www.brownells.com/shooting-accessories/range-gear/magazine-storage-pouches/grab-go-magazine-pouch-prod27325.aspx
  2. The practice of sending the bolt home on a chambered round is frowned upon with a 1911, as it could damage the extractor. Try the new extractor mentioned in post above.
  3. Is the extractor coming loose issue only with the Kahr/Thompsons? Thanks
  4. Good morning gentlemen and Happy New Year. I spent the day at a friends for a great New Year dinner and to check out his S&W M29 collection. He also has an early 1927A5 with a low serial, #131. No P suffix. The finned barrel measures about 15". No provision for attaching a butt stock. I've read some of the pistols lack the suffix, so what manufacture date list would we use? One will be '75, the other '77. No big difference either way. Another question is that the vertical fore grip mount (metal tab that extends from bottom of barrel) is lose. Can this be easily tightened? What supports the front end of the grip, as it doesn't touch the underside of the barrel? Thanks for your help in advance.
  5. Thank you for the knowledge. I've been collection firearms for over 30 years, I'm just getting into the Thompsons. The look has always appealed to me but just never acted on owning one. I won a West Hurley 1927A1 on GB, waiting for delivery next week. Most likely more question to come. Thanks again,
  6. I read that the West Hurley Thompson receivers are built different as to not accept any full auto parts. Is there an external visual difference between the two? (besides being a SBR) Anyone have pictures to share of the comparisons? Thanks
  7. Congratulations on your new Thompson. Now start looking for a Colt 1905 pistol or Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w22/MickeyD1/Colt19031919.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w22/MickeyD1/Colt1905.jpg
