Hi all! Got to shoot my MP40 for the first time this past Sunday. It's still in jail, but the shop that's handling the F4 does MG shoots periodically and had no problem bringing it out for me. Ran about 300 rounds through it. Had a few mags that ran perfectly, but had more malfunctions than I would've liked...The bad thing is that I can't say that it was for sure magazine issues because, when I finished shooting the last mag, we noticed that the barrel nut had loosened to where I could screw it on and off with my hand...I'm not sure how that could've happened. I'm going to purchase a new crush washer and tighten it down. Can anyone comment on how tight it should be and what the best method to do that would be? It is the simplified 2 sided nut and I DO have the notch cut in the magazine well. Now onto the malfunctions. Mostly had an issue with spent casings not ejecting all the way out of the port, falling back into the receiver, and stopping up the bolt. That was as easy as removing the mag and dumping the spent cases out to fix, but I feel that it should not be happening...Secondly, I had a few issues with the bolt ramming the last round or so into the receiver wall instead of feeding properly and pushing the bullet head into the casing. Finally, I had an issue with the top round trying to pop out of the magazine when inserting it into the gun (loaded to 25-30 rounds, not fully loaded). That last one seems to be a magazine issue, but I'm also wondering if the ejector is not installed correctly and hitting the rim of the top round, causing it to flip up in the mag. I will be going up to the gun shop next monday to address the barrel nut issue, but any help would be greatly appreciated. The last thing I would like to mention is that there is a lot of up-and-down stock wobble. It sounds like stocks aren't commonly tight on these guns, but I thought it would be somewhat tighter than it is. When I press the stock button, the stock will fall freely with no effort at all. When it is locked open, there is a good 1/2 to 1" of up-and-down play in the stock. Does anyone know a way to tighten this up? New button and spring? Is the stock overly difficult to disassemble? Thanks again, guys! I wish I could take the gun home and fix it, but sadly it's looking like March or April before it'll be approved. Below are a few pics from the shoot. I'm dressed in my 5th Gebirgsjager impression because the shop was holding a costume contest at the shoot. I won
