  1. Hello Bob, Thank you for the help, and nice to know. I often get pieces to make display guns and a friend was taking some lend lease parts off one of your older receivers it looks like. I remembered seeing your mark(I believe) on some bolts a bit back. Nice workmanship on the 80%!
  2. Sorry took me a long time to get a picture, I cant own all but never seen this one.
  3. I have bought many good things from overseas and Canada. You have found a good start to the source I also use the different eBay programs for other countries, they are in the language but still can figure it out. Of course you have to read the laws and figure out different ways to speak to people, but that is the fun part. For the companys in the UK and Canada on line they will not play ball with you in the US. I have had a few great conversations with quite a few and they are good people. Convincing them to cut a gun in half is insulting to many of them as the receivers are perfectly legal for themNow the illegal part for many of them is to take that receiver off the gun and cut it. They have a certificate for the gun and when they start undoing the spot welds to break down the piece it could get them in problems. Yes people over there do it, and more often than you think. As they destroy the bolt in many of these(cut bolt head sideways) some will cut through the top and through the bolt as well leaving a half usually the front. They will also take the barrel off as the barrel in many countries is holed and can not be shipped back anyway. They they will ship the other cut half to another addressMany rare parts that help make display guns in perfect shape and responsible prices are out there.
  4. Thanks, it was driving me crazy. Kahr makes the Thompson tribute guns, a friend was talking about them and could not think of the maker.
  5. I have searched and can not remember this silly question. Which manufacture stamped the Keystone outline on the front of the nose on Thompson receivers? Asking from something I saw and snapped no pictures, just cant remember.
  6. There was a hook type clasp that was on a small pin. That entire hook broke. When it happened I thought I would just find another so dropped it in the trash..... yep I have not done that for a long time! I have tried to find this lock for a bit and think it will return to the wall!
  7. Here are a few more from the inside. Years ago I put too much of a powder charge and broke part of the lock. Was a catch like thing from what I remember. I have no clue the maker.
  8. I have this old repro black powder kit gun that has been hanging on my wall forever. I think it is an old kit gun and I would like to track down a lock for it as the lock is broken. Any guesses on it or where to find a lock? It has sentimental value to me so I understand it is probably not the finest firearm!
  9. Here are a few as I am cleaning it up. Serial 8*** which is WW1 used. Also no Nazi proofs so made it without being stamped later. I am working on the new stock for it, but will be a nice display piece. I have a Lanchester bolt in it as at first did not think could save the bolt. How something so pretty will become my wifes new kitchen cabinets is the real mystery!
  10. I did look at the repro drums and they are $500 or so. The gun is a saw cut so it will not be shooting with me at least. I thought about the regular P08 mag for the display but may just modify a Sten mag for the look.
  11. Well got everything good for the group, I even just picked up a new stock on Gunbroker to add. What I dont have is an ejector for the group. Is the ejector the same as the MP28 or the Lanchester? I could always just make one, but dont even have a picture of one so would be some guess work. I had to make a few screws for it, and was going to blue the parts but think I may just leave it alone. After I got the boat paint off had a look of character to it
  12. That is a good idea, and think will give it a try. In the end if I do ok, should just be missing a barrel screw, stock screw, and the swivel for the barrel. Everything will be numbered matched except the pivot screw on the front and the bolt. Quite a few issues with it between all but will be a nice display after some clean up. Parts had been turned into a toy gun in the 50s for a kid and left outside fighting “the Hun” during a few summers.... Came to me in black boat paint, rusted, and in pieces. A neighbor told me about his “Tommy gun” that he had from his childhood and walked away with my money!
  13. I was trying to figure out a old parts kit I have. Also have some other parts for the 18 but old welded. I did not want to start cleaning up anything and then have an expensive oops moment. For example in my case I have a barrel stuck to a collar because the screw was ground/welded(Dewat?) I figure the barrel is an ok part but maybe can save the collar. Also the front pieces off one that was about a pile of scrap. In the end started to find it more interesting....
  14. Thanks for the reply. So the sight is the release for the barrel, which seems strange as would have thought that would be pinned. I guess in a way it is but different. Was the collar for the barrel similar to a STEN or Lanchester in that it only can be assembled one way? I would assume the heavy type bolt would be too much for a single screw, but is that the reason the barrel was secured in the front? I may be over complicating the design but the Germans always did...
  15. Trying to understand the MP18. As there are few around and it is the grandfather of the blowback! Does the barrel screw on the gun hold the barrel to the gun, or does it just keep it from rotating? The collar inside the housing was installed through the back or from the front and pinned? How does the barrel attach to the collar to the receiver? In the field how would a soldier remove the barrel if he needed to change it?
  16. Here are the slides, interesting to compare the foreign with the US.
  17. Lots of stuff Jim! Have been putting on ebay and sold about 27 hammers in a lot. The sight is up and if you guys are interested will be reasonable as you helped with the identification. It is listed high as will just lower until it goes. I will get some more pictures of the slides up as interesting to compare them. Some foreign. Lots of stuff... and I love my book:).
  18. Thank you for the help on the sight, Black River Militaria CII. I sent you a PM.
  19. I joke with her about that, one day a yard sale will happen and $5 will be in my wifes pocket.....I dont know why he loved this junk. I am going to sell about all of it, but not until is all identified and checked. I am not a dealer so takes me longer than some. If you are interested in the sight(Black River Militaria CII), I would.
  20. Thank you for that DINK, I was not going that direction! And Jim you have a good eye, separating.... you can see my wife hates me as pushed her Xmas dishes aside and got grease on the table cloth.
  21. Hello, Got stumped today with a large parts group had picked up. A very interesting site and maybe feed paws from some type of machine gun. Was mixed in with bunch of ww1 and ww2 1911 parts. I dont have a clue on these and am starting to pull out what little hair is left!
  22. Here are the receiver pictures. Just wanted to make sure I am not going to machine a lower that was something special. Thanks for the looks!
  23. Hello, I picked up an odd ball M1 the other day in my travels. It is a low serial number (10k) and has a maching upper and lower. The gun is saw cut and only had the lower and upper, no barrel or bolt. It has some differences from my other M1s in that the lower will not accept Thompson mags(groove too small). The upper(sorry not home to take a picture) has three holes tapped for a machine thread in front of the mag area on the bottom. also at the top of the mag area there is a a continuation of the groove into the receiver. What guesses do you guys have on what this is? The lower is exact measure to the other M1 lower I have beside it( my picture is off) Kind regards, Brock
  24. I will take the Cutts, send me a line. Ackissw@yahoo.com Thanks
