  1. Did George Goll put his mark on bare, unbuilt frames? I would have guessed that he would inspect and mark only fully-finished Tommies, but that's only my guess.
  2. Damn, I guess my memory is going. I've certainly owned other makes besides Seymour, so I must have seen plain floor plates. Thanks for clarifying it for me.
  3. I don't recall ever having any that didn't have the two processing dimples on them. Were there any GI floorplates that came like that?
  4. George Segal had at some training with firearms. He did a short hitch in the Army after being drafted in the 50s. Very, very few actors today have served. Adam Driver (USMC) is the only one I can think of right now.
  5. Hats off to the army cooks! When I was in, I don't think I ever saw a mess sergeant or cook who wasn't doing everything they could to make good chow for us.
  6. Did he say anything about opening it up and looking inside? Seems if he went to the trouble to take a photo and contact you, he'd have taken a good close look at it. Maybe he's a really new "new guy" and needs someone to talk him through the disassembly?
  7. If I’m reading the ad correctly, he won’t ship(?) I’d think a scammer would avoid a FTF sale. If I were in the market for a ‘21, I’d insist on flying to Texas to buy it anyway.
  8. "After two more months in military prison, Preston was released, underwent retraining, and given a general discharge." A General Discharge? Unbelievable. It's the same way today. The military often seems reluctant to give anyone a Dishonorable or Bad Conduct discharge.
  9. I don't have that book. Is it an "L" rear sight? Peep is zeroed for 100 yards and notch 250, so it would shoot high at 50 yards.
  10. When you say the wood set is unopened, you mean you haven't even opened the box from Sarco? Gotta look at it, man. Sarco has always been a crapshoot for me. Good luck.
  11. But at least they let you pay it off on a 12 month installment plan!
  12. I used a demilled bolt to start my project. Couldn't bear to ruin a good, usable part. It had the face cut off at an angle, but enough of the stem left to install an extractor and for it to display through the ejector port. I cut too far back at first. You'll have to cut right at the base of the stem to fit it through the barrel opening.
