  1. I had heard about Wolff magazine springs, but not Lee Tool. Anyone have anything bad to say about them? They are more expensive than Wolff but they make Sten springs and I can't find that Wolff does. Only MP38/40. Thoughts?
  2. I purchased an in-the-white unbuilt Charles Erb MP40 receiver last year. If he did those, he most likely did Sten tubes too.
  3. I was wondering if anyone knows a maker of a display case for a submachinegun that can be wall mounted and relatively secure. By that I mean anchored to the wall, polycarbonate or something else break-resistant for viewing and lockable. I look at a lot of these "display cases" for firearms and they're all made of cheap pine and single pane thin glass. I'm thinking of something in steel and mildly burglar-resistant. Because it will be holding a Title II firearm, specifically an MP40. With buttstock folded, magazine inserted, so minimum 28 x 15". Thanks!
  4. Why tell me I paid too much? I paid LESS than what you are talking about. I didn't ignore your advice, I dismissed it. I wasn't wanting to pay $100+ for magazines if I could avoid it. I don't care if they are NOS or close, I want shooting magazines.
  5. I have not contacted folke yet. You think $87.50 is collector pricing? Nobody on this forum offered anything close to that (got these somewhere else), in fact the lowest price offered here was $95 for "Good". I'm happy with what I got, considering my options.
  6. Ouch! It's at $127 already with a week to go! I got 2 parkerized ones for $175, and had another guy sell me a complete recoil assembly, bolt AND 5 magazines for $550! Don't want to be bleeding before I get to the range...
  7. I forgot about the feed lips. So is a Suomi loader still going to work on a Sten magazine?
  8. I know that mag loaders for Suomi and Stens are pretty much identical, now I learn that the Swedes made a mag loader for the Swedish K that uses 36 round stripper clips that apparently work on Suomi magazines. Which begs the question- does it also work on Sten mags? Anyone tried it?
  9. Anybody know where to get MP40 magazine floorplates? I have one where the retaining tab is broken off.
  10. Looking for more magazines for my incoming MP40 subgun. Looking only for German 32 rounders in reasonable condition. Don't need to be perfect, this is not for display purposes. No Vigeron mags thank you. I have 5, figure I need another 5-10. Let me know what you have and what you want for them.
  11. I asked John Andrewski what to lube my MP40 with and he said "synthetic 0w-20". Lots when I first get it back from him (currently being built) as it will be a little tight. He said it was probably the best thing for any steel gun, it won't cook like dino oils and cleanup is pretty easy. As he said, an $8 quart will last a long time...
  12. I got my tax stamp on May 7th. They cashed the check April 26th 2018. It is going to be longer than 9 months I'm afraid. Now my 2 receivers are at John Andrewski's to be made into working guns. He's figuring 6 weeks for the Sten, 3 months for my MP40.
  13. In the next few months I will be getting my tax stamp for an in-the-white Charles Erb MP40 receiver that I purchased in March. Well, hopefully in the next 3-5 months... I am looking for recommendations on SOT manufacturers to do my build and bluing for this gun. Hopefully will have my parts all sorted out soon. I already contacted Bob at Black River and he's thinking he's got too much work at the moment. I will keep pestering him, but I may need a plan B. I also have a Sten Mk2 tube and parts kit that likewise need to be put together. If someone you know does Stens and MP40's please pass on your recommendations for that too. Thanks, Madkiwi
  14. So the adding/removing trustees after approval is technically a loophole? I like it, but I don't understand how it can be that simple.
  15. So I will run this by my Class 3 dealer when they open Tuesday, but was wondering how it works. I am the Trustee of my NFA Trust (newly minted) with 3 beneficiaries. I am presuming that means I fill out and sign the form 4, and all of us submit fingerprint cards and photos. Got it. Sections 14-16 (Transferee Questions) says at the top- "Complete Only When Transferee is An Individual". Does that mean this section doesn't get completed when the Transferee is a Trust? Or that I have to submit 4 copies (me and the 3 beneficiaries)? Thanks, Mark
