I know that when you have a Trust and after you get an Approved Form 1 for a SBR there is a requirement that you engrave the receiver. My question is when you purchase a transferable machine gun on a Form 4 does it have to be engraved also? Same question for a suppressor, when you buy a suppressor from Silencer Co your fill out a Form 4 once approved and you take possession, do you have to engrave your trust information?
  3. I searched the forum threads and it appears the two people recommended to repair the bolt/charging handle are: Bob Naess of Black River Militaria and Paul Krogh of Diamond K Engineering. Using all the contact info I could find I have PM'd, emailed and called, leaving messages and have not been able to communicate with either. I am not sure they still do this type of work but would like to find out. I may have old contact info, can somebody share current info for these two guys? Thank You, Tommy
  4. It's so different than my ARs or pistols, I just wanted some reassurance on what I'm doing to the MP-40 and Sten. Petroleum1 and Haenelistklasse, I appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences. Thanks, Tommy
  5. Hello Guys, I read the section on Cleaning and Lubricating in Blitzkrieg, it basically says to use "a gun cleaning spray solvent" and then re-lubricate it. What type of spray solvent do you use? Do you ever use compressed air to dry it/remove residual solvent before you oil it? I use Ballistol for a lubricant, what do you use? And lastly is there any video clips of a MP-40 being cleaned and lubricated? On Thursday nights I participate in a IDPA style pistol shoot, tonight after the pistol shoot was done we ran the course with the MP-40, it was a blast! I let several people run it with the MP and they were amazed how easy the gun is to run and hit steel with. Any secrets or tips on cleaning/lubricating would be appreciated. Thanks, Tommy
  6. Interesting gun, I know it is not a pristine MP-40 but it was modified for a purpose...
  7. I'm not sure what cleaner I will use. I read somewhere the purple simple green was good but not to use regular simple green. Lyman, Hornandy and others make various solutions, I'm hoping others will chime in. ppgcowboy...can you elaborate some about how you clean stuff, what I mean is how far do you disassemble a firearm? I know you shouldn't put wood items in the tank but what about plastic, Bakelite and other non-metal items. Any cleaning tips are much appreciated. Cheers, Tom
  8. Hello All, I am considering getting the Hornandy Hot Tub Ultrasonic Cleaner has anybody used one or have a opinion about how good they are? TIA, Tom
  9. Hello All, I recently took an assignment in the Netherlands. While walking around a market in a small town I saw some WWII German Medals/Badges on a vendors table. I ended up buying them and have identified most of them. Does anybody know of a good reference book or is a member of a Forum that could help me identify the remaining items. I think some are real but I have doubts about a few of them, regardless I am pleased to have gotten them. Thanks in advance, Tom
  10. Yesterday my MP-40 followed me home. Seven months to the day the Form 4 was e-filed I got the stamp. It was so nice to have it available to look at and tinker with. The range allowed me to shoot it whenever I wanted but there was always something I forgot to do or look at and I had to wait until the next visit to figure it out. My Sten is still in jail, if the seven months holds it will be free in 6 weeks. Cheers, Tommy
  11. I was just wondering if any of you look at the MP38-40 message board on Facebook? It may not have all the full auto experience that this board has but it often has interesting information. It appears to have mostly European members. Somebody recently posted a pic of his new SSD and they often post WWII pictures of personnel with MP-40s. I think you have to "join" to see the posts, just curious and it's something to consider. Cheers, Tommy
  12. Yours appears to be further back than the one in my Sten. Neat video, thanks for posting. I am always amazed at the simple things people do that are very beneficial. Cheers, Tommy
