  1. I don't know if this will help you, but when I got a new drum it wouldn't feed right. I bent the feed lips open ever so slightly and it worked!
  2. I have an Auto Ordnance. Maybe if you get a butt plate from one you can fit it to yours? When I shortened my stock the butt plate was undersized. I welded 1/4" square iron around the perimeter, then ground it into shape, used blacking to get a good fit, then polished it.
  3. My Tommy Gun (semi-automatic) drum magazine spring got bent. I couldn't find any instruction on disassembly. I ground off the steel tongues that were sort of riveted, and after a while figured out what went wrong with the spring. I watched a video on brazing, since this is thin steel, and voila, it works! Guess I wound it too tight? First picture you can see the spring is bent, and the black retainer is off. Assembly was really tricky. After brazing I spray painted it black again and tested it.
  4. Thank you for the information. I've always wanted to shoot a machinegun, but never have.
  5. Good idea. I never heard of WW2 vets being able to bring back fully automatic guns though. Did they? Maybe he just snuck it back?
  6. I was told about an elderly man who brought back a MP40 from Germany, maybe WW2? Made me wonder if he could ever sell the thing since it's an unknown gun? No, I don't have it, and I don't even know his name, but he might be in a pickle! I did some looking, and saw he really screwed up not registering it in 68. That's a pity for him, or whoever get hold of the thing because they could get prison. Maybe the judge is nicer to old people.

  8. I bought the pawl spring, had the trigger assembly apart, and wouldn't you know it, I couldn't find the spring! Well, I had the original pawl spring I had shortened just a tad, and looked at my springs on hand. I slipped a Harbor Freight spring over the original spring, and it works!
  9. Kahr guy says the same- pawl spring may be too weak. I should've left that spring alone.
  10. Kahr, of course says no to 45 Super. He couldnt give me recommended pressure. Humor me- I'm new to this. No need for the put-down. I'm aware now of the difference between .45 ACP and .45 Super. My question was the possibility of upping the fps safely.
  11. It'll be an interesting experiment. I'd rather have the bolt fall closed if it comes to that.
  12. Thank you for the response. I wonder.. maybe the pawl spring is too strong since it is engaging when it should not?
  13. Darned bolt is locking back for no apparent reason. Happens a lot less on 30 round mags, more on 20 round, and nearly always on the drum. Im stumped! The actuator that gets popped up when the mag is empty flops around- its not in the up position. What in the world could be holding the bolt back? Thanks for the responses.
