  1. Just a note To remove barrel field strip first with bolt removed Also to reinstall make sure field stripped no bolt in receiver
  2. My barrel easily unscrewed from the receiver after the entire action was removed from the stock. Suggest you watch forgotten weapons youtube video on filed stripping Very good video These are simple easy to shoot firearms. I am reloading 45 ACp for about 15 cents a round using lubed cast bullets Beigest expense are the primers ! I would like to learn if all barrels are so easy to unscrew No pins etc to retain in place for the head space ???
  3. I like making things work right On my Model 50 initially it would not feed correctly THANKS to this forum I made the firing pin fix, polished the bolt face etc When using reloads I noticed a few failures of the trigger to fire the hammer The cartridge's by, a few ( mm?) would not seat fully into the chambers preventing the bolt - hammer to fall into place I removed the barrel, soaked the chambers in nitro solvent, then polished chamber and feed ramp Now runs flawless Basic maintenance - sure but sometimes overlooked
  4. I also ordered a milled sear to be on the safe side I will let folks know what I discover was wrong At our local gun range can only shoot semi auto
  5. Reading great messages it appears I need to 1. take apart triggers group and make sure it was assembled correctly and 2. BUY and good disconnector So any other advice including where to buy a good disconnector appreciated
  6. Firearm runs perfect full auto with selector pushed in full to the left and right I assume there is a worn part not catching the bolt assembly Anyone that can link me to proper past discussions so i can begin to trouble shoot will be appreciated If I can not fix I do have a good gunsmith in town of you can give me some items to check Also any past message board references from great educated folks on the Sten you can recommend will be appreciated At age 72 I have given up knowing everything!!!
  7. It looks like a Reising If not I will take it down My Father carried a Reising and a 45 Colt with VMF-312 He called it is Daisey BB Gun
  8. UPDATE which may be of use to others The retaining pins of the magazine housing fail to keep the magazine housing flush with the receiver ( see pictures) This results in a tipping of the magazine from its proper feed position. As a temp fix I shimmed the pins to make the housing tight against the receiver It now feeds flawlessly MY question is do I have the pins in upside down with the flat surface facing the receiver?
  9. First thanks to this board and members I had this reising running smooth Initial problem was a dirty inside bolt and sticking non floating firing pin Well yesterday went to range, factory ammo, tried 3 different magazines same as before About every 4th round would not feed jam against bore leaving a scar, chip indent about 25 percent back from the nose of the copper plated bullet. So my question is where to start to solve. Thanks all Also I replaced the firing pin spring with a Woldf spring as others suggested The return recoil spring seems very strong. It is difficult for me to pull the bolt back to load. I am guessing that the problem is not a weak return recoil spring I have a video of it running smooth but am not allowed to post it
  10. Three sold top price $8900 low price 7800 model 50 s normal guns
  11. Went to the range All magazines functioned flawless No jams what so ever I polished bolt, filed a small amount from rear of firing pin, cleaned out INSIDE of bolt ( filthy) replaced firing pin spring IT WORKS!!!
  12. By floating firing pin I believe what I had to do was file just a bit from the rear of the factory firing pin which I did I did not replace the factory pin with the new titanium pin as the titanium pin is a bit longer than the original pin I will try tomorrow Eventually I reload cast bullets I will powder coat then and try them out also Again thanks to all Once I get this to run reliably YEA!!!
  13. And to Ian in forgotten weapons video on how to field strip a Resing 50. When I got it last week it jammed cartidges on feeding > Thanks to Paul and others I have cleaned out the iside of the bolt ( horrible sticking grease) filed down the end of the firing pin polished to bolt and replaced the spring with a wolf spring. Notice the longer and stronger wolf spring for the firing pin We will see if it works tomorrow !!!
  14. Thanks I see the beveled slot cut into the rear area of the firing pin. I am assuming this and the retaining pin is what keeps the pin secured while allowing movement of the pin when struck by hammer. I have the same cartridge feed jam as corrected in the EXCELLENT post. I have wolf springs and will file the base of the pin to hopefully correct
  15. Thanks. Hopefully it will be obvious how spring. Retaining pin and firing pin go together. I am following instructions to prevent chamber feed jams on my new gun
  16. I do not see in the excellent forgotten weapons video how to remove the firing pin. I bought the wolf springs. It looks like I drift out a side bolt pin then what? Any trick putting new spring in correctly? Thanks
  17. Well I have new firing pin and new spring. Now to drift out bolt pin that retains firing pin?? And hope I can put it back together. I do not see instructions on how to remove the pin
