  1. Art, I have changed them before and have not encountered the problem that you have with the nut being lodged into the wood . Yes ,I used a 10mm socket and ratchet and it was a even swap. I have had issues swapping the complete rear halves ,there is a metal washer that acts as a shim ,to keep the scew from threading too deep in the rear piece and if it is not in place ,the stock will not fold ! I need to either make or purchase the shim .
  2. I found a couple trips in the dishwasher cleaned mine up pretty well . I am not sure about the Spacer Beretta used, but wood is what SA used . I bought my grips for Nigerian stocks also.
  3. There is a thread further down on the forum where I ask the same question . They are wood spacers and I have the specs somewhere,if you can not find the thread let me know and I will search around and find them . I still have not made any for my own Nigerians yet . Mike I did received 8 of my 10 grips, all were used, but they did arrive. He is going to send out the other 2 tomorrow .

  5. Did yours come with or without the grip caps on the bottom ?
  6. It takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get the items from Italy . How long ago did you win your auction ? I did bid on and win some as well, and I have not received mine yet, but I have always received what I have ordered from Andy . I was thinking today that my grips should be here any day now myself . I will keep you posted .
  7. Yes I did see that one as well .That one was kinda hard for me to make out if the buttpad was red rubber or if it was just dark and dirty from discoloration or if it had been replaced . The $3500 price tag is enough to keep me away , I know that they are a more rare variant, and they do not often come up forsale, but seems high to me .
  8. There is currently a BM69 made by ARMCO on gunbroker . This is a varient that is a new one to me . I did a search and found out that ARMCO was a primarily a importer of Chinese SKS's and and AK47's but also had a retail shop .The company was owned by Stephen Holmquist and was located in Boylston, Mass. Anyone see or hear of this version of BM59 before ? Looks alot like some of the Golden State clones .
  9. goo nice to see you here ! Lots of good information on this forum on the BM59's . Welcome. Mike
  10. Very nice ! Thanks for sharing ,I find these old ads very interesting . Any other BM59 related ads that you care to share ?
  11. Anyone know if the AR70 bipods and the BM59 bipods the same or are they different ? Thanks...Mike
  12. Thanks for the update. Please keep the information and pictures coming . That is a very interesting prototype. Mike
  13. Very nice ! Glad to hear that yoiu were able to give it a good home . PB does indicate Beretta. Like mentioned ,Andy and another fella on ebay sometimes have the stripper clips and chargers. Andy for the slings as well. I have to warn you BM59's are addictive !
  14. I believe the last time I spoke with Terry, he mentioned that he had given up looking for a BM62 and was focasing more on the M1A platform. There is a clean 62 on Gunbroker, but it has the tri comp instead of the faux '62 comp .
  15. M1A scope mount will not work on a BM59 sorry. Mags are available at Reese and on the net for around $50-75ea. There are a couple scope mounts for the M1 garand that will work on a BM59 also. Yes pics would be best or a description of the markings on the left side rear of the receiver . Might say something like Berben corp NY,NY ,Benet Afton ,VA, or Springfield Armory Geneseo,IL. These are the real BM59's typically found . Some are known for rewelds are Golden State,Santa Fe Arms ,National Ordnance, Federal Ornance. If you see these markings beware and look closely, as lots were made from scraps welded back together . Ofcourse then there are the Design built rifles, that guys like myself have that are made from M1 Garand receivers that were either annealed and machined then reheat treated or just machined with carbide cutters and had BM59 parts kits installed. These are typically fine and I know of 3 other gentlemen other than myself that have these and I have not herd of any complaints, but all were either built by professional gunsmiths or Master machinists. All are very proud of them and love them ! I hope this helps ....... Mike
  16. Thanks for the input! I just could not see anything so special about that one .I thought that maybee I was missing something . I am always willing to learn something about these rifles . Mike
  17. Looks like it sold for $2,825.00 . It had a nice folding stock,5 mags and a lock bar site ,but with the serial # in the 1.5 million range . Could this have been one of the Garands reworked by Beretta and imported by Golden State ? I can't figure out why this one sold for so much anyone have a idea or theory ?
  18. There is a Golden State Arms BM59 on Gun Broker right now . I see a nice folding stock , 4 magazines , and it has a set of M1 Garand lock bar sites on it ,other than that it looks like a typical Golden State Arms rifle to me . It is up to $2,225.00 at this moment, is there something special about this rifle that I am missing ? It looks like nothing special to me. What am I missing about this one ? Is it true about being 1 of 200 ? This one just got me to wondering . Nobody knows or are we just being tight lipped until the auction is over ?
  19. Vic Thanks for sharing ! The Dutch rifle is very interesting . We are all looking forward to your book .
  20. That would be correct about 3 1/2" long .The others are just the base of this ,kinda like a gas lock with a twist lock about 1 1/2" long total length. You think it would be possible to buy the last 4" of the tri comp Reese sells and fit it to this ? How does the Break /flash hider attach to this ? It was a nice pick up of Beretta parts . I received alot of stuff that I had never seen before like the spring guide and some interesting "Short" spindle valves with no threads on the end.
  21. Mike , I found a tricomp marked PBbm59 on one side and a PC marking inside of a diamond marking on the other side ,then there is a letter "U" off to the right hand side. This is the 7" tricomp.Another 7' tricomp is marked PBBM59 with no makings on the other side other than a "Y". I have also a few of the shorter winter triggers marked :PB-BM59 TA Pc . There was also a detachable tricomp base marked :BM59 Pc with a clip and bayonet lug with a tube marked SMONTAGGIO with a arrow pointing to the left ,but no Flashider/muzzle break. The other 3 stripped twist lock bases are ummarked. There were a few interesting parts that I had never seen before on the lot ,including a couple of heavy duty spring guides .
  22. Thanks Art ! I just bought the parts lot from Blackgold. I will see what all booty it contains when it arrives . There is several bolts and other misc. items in the lot, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas !
  23. Bob , you found what I was after ! Thanks for posting the dimensions ,the wood spacer block is indeed what I was asking about ! Thanks a bunch ! Mike
  24. Noride, There is no spacer between the stock and the grip ? Any way we could get a picture of your stock ? Thanks ....Mike
