  1. One on Gunbroker that will work: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/920851564
  2. I believe that it is actually a property marking. Many USGI Revolvers went to the US Civil Defense Program after WW2, so most likely (L) = some town and (CD) = Civil Defense.

  4. US Lemon Variations are definitely an elusive collectors prey.
  5. Received news today that board member sherman3 passed away this morning. Sherm was a long time Class 3 dealer / enthusiast and current Ohio Gun Collectors Association President. RIP Frank
  6. It appears that the selector has possibly been modified (Welded?) where it meets the lower?
  7. Also some interesting info related to an FBI Investigation of Dairt Co: https://forum.cartridgecollectors.org/t/dairt-oilite-45-ammunition/2922

  9. The Colt 1921 and later USGI 1928 Metal was the same general dimensions for the most part. There are some poor quality reproduction stocks currently being sold out of Las Vegas.
  10. When someone has to call upon George Stephanopoulos to bolster a story, they have hit rock bottom.
  11. An amnesty would be welcome by anyone with interest in MGs. It has been discussed and pressed many times since 1968, with every angle and debate pursued. Some 40 years ago I truly believed that I would see a second amnesty sometime, now I am confident that unfortunately there will most likely never be one.
  12. Cant speak for the Gunbroker Seller, however the maker of those loaders is a Board Benefactor here. http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18173
  13. There is no doubt that the barrel was fitted to a TSMG at one time. In your first photo, the barrel boss threads have a groove from a Cutts Compensator Pin, showing that a Cutts was previously installed as Bob mentioned. A NOS Factory Barrel would not have had a Cutts fitted and removed. Serviceable used parts were often packed in cosmoline by many countries post war. Also, there have been unscrupulous individuals in the past that would dress up used parts in cosmoline and wrap to appear NOS.
  14. Retired Army Major John H. Barrett was employed by Auto Ordnance as resident inspector, to receive, inspect and ship TSMGs produced at Colts.
  15. Probably a 1960s DCM / NRA M1 Carbine Sales Rifle. I know of a few who received M2 marked Carbines, long before uncle cared about markings.
  16. 26 U.S. Code § 5872. Forfeitures (a) Laws applicable Any firearm involved in any violation of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to seizure and forfeiture, and except as provided in subsection b, all the provisions of internal revenue laws relating to searches, seizures, and forfeitures of unstamped articles are extended to and made to apply to the articles taxed under this chapter, and the persons to whom this chapter applies. (b)disposal In the case of the forfeiture of any firearm by reason of a violation of this chapter, no notice of public sale shall be required; no such firearm shall be sold at public sale; if such firearm is forfeited for a violation of this chapter and there is no remission or mitigation of forfeiture thereof, it shall be delivered by the Secretary to the Administrator of General Services, General Services Administration, who may order such firearm destroyed or may sell it to any State, or possession, or political subdivision thereof, or at the request of the Secretary, may authorize its retention for official use of the Treasury Department, or may transfer it without charge to any executive department or independent establishment of the Government for use by it.

  20. I recently picked up this grip included in a large lot of mixed WW2 USGI Parts from an Estate. Any opinions on originality or not would be appreciated. Thanks and stay safe, Frank
  21. It is a U.S. M-1912 Springfield Fencing Bayonet. Google should give you some results.
