  1. A "first in, first out" approach to NFA forms processing would make the processing times easier to defend with resource constraint excuses. The current reality is an arguably discriminatory practice by a government agency managing applications to exercise a constitutionally guaranteed right. I've had an eForm 4 out since last June with electronic prints. None of this makes sense.
  2. It seems the guys filing Individual are getting them quickly. I'm at 2 weeks on both a Form 4 and a Form 1 with a traditional NFA trust. There's rumor that the "standardized" trusts (like the Silencershop single shot trusts with a single responsible person) are closer to the approval times for individuals. This is a bit ridiculous when you consider the single shot trust as the 41F loophole that it really is. Plenty of folks on the NFA subreddit claiming they were approved in mere hours for individual submissions.
  3. Looking for a 1928A1 trigger frame relatively close to AO 82000 serial number, with or without internals. Not too picky about condition, within reason.
  4. I have to imagine the only accurate source for that information would be the ATF, and even that would be approximate. Production numbers are meaningless when so many guns were dropped in the fields, jungles, and beaches, sold off to foreign nations after the war, dumped into the ocean, cut into parts kits, etc. Even if one were to file a FOIA request and actually have someone try to provide the information, the lack of continuity in registration information (misinterpreted serial numbers, variance in stated model, manufacturer entity, and location, etc), bastard post-war frankenguns, etc. would make it a monumentally tedious task at best. If you've ever seen some original amnesty forms, they were not picky about what was recorded, and the plethora of information that exists to guide us on the subject today did not back then. Go get a job with the NFA branch and spend your lunch breaks counting them, then let us know!
  5. After rereading your post and others' speculation, if it's an M1/M1A1 with a 1928 frame, sounds normal. I wouldn't mill down a $700+ original frame, personally... I'm sure there's someone out there who would trade for a frame that's more correct to your gun.
  6. If there was a lack of oxygen, then the wood would turn into charcoal rather than burn (that is literally how charcoal is made). It wouldn't survive the heat unscathed.
  7. Were it mine, I'd look to have it re-heat treated and then refinished if there was evidence of having reached extreme temperatures. Did the wood ignite? I wouldn't file an insurance claim that leads to them taking it... they're just going to scrap it or otherwise goof up the paperwork, and another transferable will be lost forever.
  8. I doubt you'll find what you're looking for, but I suppose if one exists (meaning a fully transferable unbuilt registered receiver), this would be the place to ask... Post sample route may be the one you have to take.
