Wanted to share these pictures of a Thompson case owned by Robert Stack of The Untouchables that I picked up at auction recently. It came with some accessories, and the attached letter from Gordon Herigstad. Researching this case brought me to a thread here, where I see a number of people were friends for a very long time with Mr. Herigstad. I'm going to assume this was a dummy gun that he built for Robert Stack based on the year and both being in California. There were some accessories that came with it, including four mags and a cleaning rod. The case itself is really well made, I see there have been a few craftsmen who've made these cases over the years. Any idea who may have made this one? I can take some pictures of the interior if it would help, there doesn't appear to be any markings on it other than the data plate that was put on that is pictured.
