  1. Finished Kahr frames are probably in the 390 range Original frame 350 + 150 to get it to fit not including refinish or fitting semi auto parts from tommygunner.com Machining and refinishing current kahr frame prob 300+ range.
  2. After seeing how my thompson worked before and after the ez pull springs, I'm thinking the heavy recoil springs are probably the majority culprit of misfeed and jam issues with these guns. I know it isn't the answer to all their probs, but if it seems to misfeed and jam a lot id recomend switching out the factory springs with the lighter ones.
  3. Check to see if short barrel rifles are legal in your state. If so fill out an atf form one, have the local cleo sign off on it, send it in duplicate with 2 fingerprint cards and $200 to atf. Once it comes back approved you can put a proper 10.5" barrel on it
  4. I bought a 1927a1 commando back in dec. First time out I had a crappy 10 round drum with me, till I could find a preban 50 rounder (all we are allowed to have here), and jammed alot with it. took it apart noticed the bolt was dmg'd, and feed ramp was bent. sent to kahr wed, had it back by Monday, they replaced the bolt fixed the feed ramp. I replaced the wood with original savage m1a1 wood, put in Dan Blocks ez pull springs, and fell into 4 original seymore and bridgeport 50 round drums. Took to the range and ran flawlessly through the 500 mixed rounds of ammo I had (winchester, federal, wolf). I got the local PD to sign off on my form 1, so now waiting to have the 200 to send it in to convert to a proper looking SBR, as had an emergency vet bill to deal with. over all im happy with it, and looks great next to all my other original US WWII firearms. BTW is it an aluminum receiver or steel receiver tommy? personally id stick to steel, but some people dont care.
  5. Try removing the trigger frame from the receiver. Then look to see if anything is binding it, as you can look at the safety range of motions.
  6. Just got mine from Dan today, and have already installed and tested with excellent results. Best $30 I ever spent
  7. Anything special I need to know to install one? My m1a1 buttplate had no spring, and sent for replacement from numerich. Just curious if they are a pain to install or are fairly easy.
  8. I got the Kahr commando as I like the look of the thompson with the bolt on top of reciever and rest of the military look, but not a fan of the horizontal forgrip. So i replaced the painted black kahr wood, with original savage M1/M1a1 wood, and when atf approval comes in for make it a SBR im locked at either the 10.5 finned barrel with comp, or 10.5 barrel with just sight.. instead of spending the money for compensators new sights ect, should just get all that already installed and get the 1927a1 and replace the foregrip or 1927 commando and refinish or replace the black wood. just an opinion to save $$ and hassle http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff186/maninblue1861/Picture007-1.jpg (taken before new wood)
  9. Dan do you sell the whole set, buffer and all?? if so I am interested for my 1927-a1 SBR commando.
  10. Anyone know a source where I can buy a original thompson m1/m1a1 buttplate with a trapdoor?? Just got a lesson that 1928 and m1 buttplates arnt exactly the same.TIA Matt
