  1. I'd say that's a fun failure. Not so much when a 1942 byf luger decides to do it. ..
  2. It's like m1 garands. Know of personally found by serial number of vets looking for the slim chance to be reunited with the rifle they carried. Hard and slim chances? Yes bUT not impossible
  3. Only thing that differs from DIY, to kits offered. The kit had a hammer/striker attached to the firing pin spring
  4. If can't find usgi, bmgparts.come sells a good repro a2 with monopod hole
  5. Actually were about 10 ft to my right. Talked to joe before. He admits they are hot, and warned not to put these bar tuned ones in a garand cause it will blow them up. I believe there's some black powder mixed in with the other propellants, due to the slight egg smell when cleaning. My flash hider is the blank adapter, has a set screw inside that's interchangable, and I drilled out the largest of the 4 or 5 that came with it to Joes recommendations. I have some less powerful ones from Atlantic wall I'll be toying with. I know with current setup it hardly moves the bolt.
  6. These are swanson blanks being tested in my bar. After reading this thread, probably going to readjust for less powerful blanks. Can see the amount of gas ect coming out of gas tube and flash hider. Orifice is .0172 I believe.
  7. Anyone know where I can find a complete stock set for my kahr thompson m1? Factory wood doesn't feel as thick as usgi ect, thus not as comfortable.
  8. They were making birch replacement garand stocks post wwii as replacements. Wouldn't surprise me if made bar foregrips too
  9. someone on another mg site i lurk on made it. need to modify by adding rope handles on ends, and maybe reinforce in a couple places with screws
  10. Good luck with your purchase, you won't be disappointed. Mirroring above, get rid of Web sling, and get a proper leather 3 hook sling, and blue the silver bolt (I have a whole thread here on stuff I did to mine to be wwii configuration) And careful on accessories, gets addictive http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff186/maninblue1861/1918%20Browning%20automatic%20rifle/_DSC1320_zpse41ucr5j.jpg
  11. And they're ya have it, learned something new. Didn't know Aniston was still overhauling these that late.
