I have determined a few interesting details of my AO parts set: the numbers on the metal parts of the buttstock, and numbers on wood, don't match each other, nor the lower receiver. (You mentioned on the other post this may indicate being a 'rebuild' prior to being lent overseas).
The buttstock was made without a reinforcing cross bolt. All the metal parts on the removable buttstock were blued with a thin coat of black paint, which peeled off with penetrating oil. Wood real nice Red Walnut. Only problem was some rust pittin on the heel of the buttplate, and I am mitigating that with emory cloth, polish and re-blue.
Barrel is brand new. No receiver stub was attached to the barrel (thank God the Seller removed it for me - everything has value) and the barrel bore is excellent. The barrel fins are squared edge.
I hope this may be insightful to others.
Thank you for your support.
