  1. "Is this the MP40 that you said that possibly had been reblued post war? The numbers are quite sharp looking and don't really indicate the typical heavy buffing that some "gun-smiths" might erroneously endow upon an MP40 in an effort to "make it look better""------------(must be a diferent 'steve') Hi mp.40 Many thanks to you and Billie for your help. I was hoping this one might have been renumbered in the field, no chance of that? Steve.
  2. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y123/stevezz1/triggergaurd-serialno.jpgHi Guys, Is it possible to tell if my MP.40 has been renumbered during war-time, or post war, during the deactivation prosess? It is a bnz 42. Any help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Steve.
  3. Hi All, Just thought i would show my MG.34. As i am in England it is deactivated.........:-( http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif It must be great to fire one these things.........dream on................ Regards, Steve.
  4. Hi Bob, Great looking collection.......... And two Lugers...... What makers/dates are they, matching numbers too? Regards, Steve.
  5. Hi Hawk, That is an awsome looking AYF. Looks like it just came from the factory......!!!! And you shoot it......? Fantastic..... Is the clip infront of the forsight for the attatchment of a muzzle cap? My slab-side has that also....... The MP.34 is nice too, I have often thought of buying one of those. Regarding deactivation here in the U.K.......Here is what has to be done, it is not very nice to read.......... The breech is pluged and welded and the breech block/firering pin are gound back so that a round cannot be picked up and pushed into the breech........ Not to bad really when you compare that to what has to be done post 1995......... Now all sub-guns have to be welded up completly....the barrel is pluged, the breech-block is welded shut and even the mag is welded in............!!!!! And i saw one one these 'new spec' deacs for sale today........the dealer was asking £970.00...........!!!!!!!! What a rip-off.........!! You can just see the plug in the breech of my slab-side pic. Hi MP.40, My slab-side has the push/pull safety/cocking handle and it has 'ayf' stamped on the end. Best regards to all, Steve.
  6. Hi All, Just thought i would show my slab side MP.40. It is a bnz.42. Serial # 3599 Unfortunatly not all matching numbers. Other wise excellent condition with 90% original bluing and original sling. Deactivated according to U.K. regulations. Old spec. all moving parts and fully stripable. I bought this one three years ago, at the anual Beltring militaria show in Kent, for £875.00 Hope you like it............. Regards, Steve. http://img6.photobucket.com/albums/v19/stevezz1/slab_side__LH.JPG http://img6.photobucket.com/albums/v19/stevezz1/RH.JPG http://img6.photobucket.com/albums/v19/stevezz1/rear_view.JPG http://img6.photobucket.com/albums/v19/stevezz1/close_up.JPG http://img6.photobucket.com/albums/v19/stevezz1/breech.JPG Many thanks to Hawk for instructions on posting pictures :-)
  7. Hi Dan and mp.40......... Many thanks for your repies.... Steve.
  8. Hi All, I have just joined the forum and have been browsing the topics. What do you American guys mean by a 'tube gun' and what does 'C&R' mean? I hope you guys across the pond realise how lucky you are to be able to fire your weapons. Over here in the U.K. we are reduced to deacs. Its a pain......But beggars can't be choosers i suppose....... :-( Great looking forum.....keep up the good work. Regards, Steve.
