  2. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-442 I saw this on a flyer from AZ congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick.
  3. That looks like an original that came loose on the front rivet, and had a really poor weld repair.
  4. Seems like 20k for a Savage wouldn't fit in my centerpiece. Seems a little steep even for a nice one. , just my .02 200 rounds? That's like 16 seconds...in C-drum years.
  5. This has probably been discussed ad naseum before, but this gun has a strange hodge-podge of sling attachments for a Colt. even has a barrel band swivel. The only one it doesn't have is the British swivel on the top of the buttstock, but it might have one and I can't see it. Since this was a Sears Gun, maybe it's the "Ted Williams" "Field model" Does it have a pheasant engraved on the side?
  6. Last one I saw for an original Colt was around $800.00 They are getting kind of scarce. That was 2 months ago.
  7. It was a Colt 21 actuator, 28 Savage bolt and Blish Lock, with one of Gordon's 21 springs and Doug's 21 Urethane Pilot and buffer assy's.
  8. That was awesome! Joe had me so scared when I was a kid. I wrote down the directions to the spot of the "Stash" in AZ, It has to be there. The story was true, just the names were changed, right? Scotch, cigarettes and Thompsons on family television, those were the days.
  9. Thanks Jim. I'll try to get them posted tomorrow for everyone.
  10. Fire Merc Sorry I forgot you. Met Ryan, and had a great visit, We're both involved in Fire. The primer tubes work great. Thanks.
  11. We didn't have any Jameson, Jenna or otherwise but Murray Willis the collector from NZ and Gordon Herigstad and I put a dandy dent in a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue before and after Dinner at the Royal Palms resort in PHX, before the SAR show last week. I hosted, then we went up the hill to our home on Camelback Mountain and sat on the patio, enjoyed the City lights and listened to many interesting stories. I got the opprotunity to meet Sig, and hike around the SAR show with him, showed him the 1923 Thompson Catalog with Oscar Paynes writing on it and had a great time. As Murray put it "Thanks to John Thompson for bringing so many interesting friends together" Now I need to go get the DVD and get back to the regular Johnnie Black.
  12. Yes, The lock had some wear, and quite a few rounds thru it. I took out the 21 parts, and put back in the 28 savage parts with a buffer. I sure like the 21 speed though.
  13. I put a Richardson 21 pilot and buffer with the urethane inside, and a new 21 spring and Colt 21 actuator in my 28, and while cleaning the gun after 300 rounds, I noticed the blish lock was cracked. Didn't have time to photograph it, but the crack is on the underside of the portion that says UP, and the crack is on 3 sides longitudinally with the UP side not being cracked. The crack is longitudinal to the gun, ie fore and aft oriented. it was a Savage lock, not a big loss just curious if it has happened to anyone else or if I did something wrong. Any Ideas?
  14. 66 was my wife's year of birth. My colt is 3684, guess I'll have to wait a long time for Gordon's serial number book #3684:( See you at the show mike!
  15. A check of his website indicates $599.00 which includes shipping and handling.
  16. Thanks! The more I carry this one around, the more I like it. Everything fits tight, no rattling around. I had Bob at Rat-Tat-Tat make me a custom case right before he moved to FL, so that was lucky. I wasn't aware that he quit building cases. I think there was another individual building very nice cases from a thread I read several months ago, but I don't remember his name. Maybe someone could weigh in. I have another case Terry Williams had built in the 80's, it's pretty old looking now. I use it for my range box.
  17. Here's Photos of Gordon's Case. The Ammo in the case is Peters .45 Riot Shot, the mags are 2 patent date colt mags, 1 riot mag, and a parts box. The lower on the gun is my Savage shooter lower for you sleuths. This is a really nice case, and pretty well thought out. With xmas right around the corner, you might want to put one of these on your list! Thanks Gordon!
  18. I was joking about the eye protection, Sorry. It's an excellent program, and kudos for taking the time to educate our young people. That's awesome!
  19. Lucky its two pictures of the same girl. Judging by the empties in the air, the gun on the left is firing and the girl on the right would be in need of first aid. Jim C And eye protection...
  20. You are running your Dillon with no powder-check alarm. pretty cheap piece of insurance.
  21. Well done. Might need one for my Parachute in the T-6. Very nice work.
  22. JUST KIDDING!!! Wondered who all was planning on attending the SAR Show in Phoenix in December. I'll have a couple things displayed with Gordon at his table including my original copy of "The Thompson Gun" 1923 catalog with Oscar Payne's handwriting on the cover. Just hoping to meet some of you all. Regards.
  23. Hello all, Just wanted to say I received Gordon Herigstads' Viola case for the Thompson Gun today. I must say the fit and finish was really nice, and the case comes with a super-nice embroidered "Blanket" that fits over the gun before the case is closed. It has room for one "L" Drum, one "C" drum. XX or XXX mags, and room for a vintage box of your favorite Ball or Riot Shot Ammo for your Anti-Bandit needs. It's the only case I'm aware of that has room for an "L", a "C", mags, and a box of shells. I put the Thompson parts tin with accessories into one of the mag slots, and have all my goodies right where I want them. The wife sprung for it as an anniversary gift, and I'm really pleased. I walked across the ramp at the airport today secretly smiling that my Colt 28 was tucked away with drums and accessories, and nobody paid any attention. Unloaded, of course. Hey "I'm with the band" Hopefully if the wife is happy, or if you've been a good boy, Santa will bring you one. Sorry for lack of photos, My camera is on the fritz.
  24. Thanks for not mentioning it on the boards here. You're lucky cause I would have come over had I known and took home the trophy:) Give us a warning next time...
