I visited his place in the 90's. I had been advised of his reputation before going. I was interested in an MP 44. He had some dewat's he wanted 6K for. I declined but he was kind enough to open his vault and give me a tour of his collection.

In the fall of 1968, Shotgun News had a full page ad for MP44's.

Price was $99.00 -your choice, Dewat, or live!

 

I recall a conversation with another shooter, who remarked how stupid someone would have to be if they paid $200 in taxes for a $100 gun.
