ATF's records are a mess. I've had two C&R MG's which were transferred to me almost 20 years ago as C&R's come back to me saying they were not C&R's . One a Inglis Mk1 Bren the the a Type 92 HMG.
They are not a very liquid asset unless its an M16 or an MP5. Both sell quickly if priced right. With prices so high and approval time so long it can take quite a while to dispose of an MG collection. I know first hand. Over 3 years now and still haven't sold them all. Getting up there in age and don't want leave my wife with the hassle of trying to sell them.
I was lucky enough about 12 years ago to pick up a mint Devine,TX factory select fire M1A with GI bipod, stabilizer 10 GI 20 round mags in 5 GI pouches in an E2 stock I wonder what it would go for now?
I visited his place in the 90's. I had been advised of his reputation before going. I was interested in an MP 44. He had some dewat's he wanted 6K for. I declined but he was kind enough to open his vault and give me a tour of his collection.
I have an Inglis Mk I*. It is my favorite LMG. I can't believe how soft the recoil is. You can shoot it all day without being arm weary. That is if you can find a supply of 303 which is very hard to find these days. So I have to reload all my 303.
My favorite sub gun. I was lucky, I have 3 drums and the all work perfectly as do the stick magazines. Ammo is getting some what harder to find now but is still available.
I have a Type 99 that has the 7.63X39 conversion. The conversion was made by Jim Langley I believe he lives in Congress, AZ. It runs great and have never had a single problem with it.
I have the full stock version of the AC 556 and it runs flawlessly. However it is not very accurate compared to an AR. With tailored hand loads will shoot 3.5- 4" groups at 100 yards. Still jot is a fun gun to shoot and I really like it. The only complaint is the weird burst fire mode.
