Does anyone have a guide , instructions, or tips to do this? My spring is toast, the pawl just flops up and down and the bolt locks to the rear every shot. The gun s a 2011 production Kahr TM1 steel receiver. Edited by Enforcer

AGI makes a great DVD on thompsons. do you have a owners manual?

I agree with WeaponsSgt, the AGI DVD is excellent and should be required

viewing for all full or semi Thompson owners. It will explain to you how to

disassemble and reassemble your trigger frame with a new spring. That

will solve your problem.

In general:

1. remove receiver from trigger frame. Set receiver (upper receiver) aside.

2. You must remove the pivot plate from the right side of the trigger

plate. You will carefully have to tug the spring away form the sear pivot.

3. Then you remove the two pivots of the selector switch and the safety

switch.

4. Remove the trigger parts. Remove the pawl spring.

5. Replace with new pawl spring. (Now is probably the best time to

replace ALL the trigger springs to save future problem and effort)

6. Partially install pivot plate and assemble trigger assembly onto it.

7. Insert pivots to complete assembly. Fully insert pivot plate while

snapping pivot spring back onto rear pivot.

Of course the details are best SEEN as in watching the video. Also,

don't completely quote me on the installation of the pivot plate since it

has been awhile since I did it and is a wee bit murkey. I.e. i don't

remember the exact details of putting on the pivot plate. But the

AGI video explains in detail for both full and semi-auto.

Note it will really be helpful if you understand the basic functioning

of the trigger assembly before you attempt reassembly.

Barring that you could always send your Thompson

to Deer Slayer to be fixed. PM him if you want to go that route. :)

T Hound, thanks for the help! Your instructions were great and gave me a background. A friend who has done this before helped me out and we're sucessfully mission accomplished.

Not a problem brother. Just glad I could help. :)
