Looking for a companion for my 21

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a Colt Commercial 1911 or 1911A1 to go with my Thompson. My 21 sold new to a PD in 1932, so any year 1932 or earlier, NOT US Property marked and either a 1911 or 1911A1 is fine. In original configuration, condition is not overly important, but original finish is a must, even if its very low finish.

PM me please if you come across one, or have one for sale. Thank you.

Larry-

You mind if it has some " scribbling " on the side ?

The pre-war stuff has really got expensive, especially in the Colt 38 Super.

Wouldn't you know, just as soon as "Machinegunboards" published a thread on "Get a companion to your Colt Thompson",

I realized that the prices on these were rising faster than my ever-stagnant salary.

Thanks to YOU guys, I pulled the trigger on this in February....made about 1923.

There are some nice ones out there. Looking around is the fun part.

Now I just need a matching Colt Thompson.... Phil

Sandy-

That's a nice piece. It sure is a shame that someone devalued it by scribbling on it. I'd be glad to trade you an old Remington Rand 1911A1 from WWII for the 38 Super and your 1908 pocket .380. I'd even pay for the shipping.... I think that's more than fair.

Let me know..

Sorry, Larry already purchased the gun, I had to fork over shipping, but that's OK, a marred up gun anyway. He's going to take it to Turnbull and have them restore it, grind off the lettering crap and re-nickel it as per factory specs-

I think we both came out even on the deal.

Very nice Sandy,

Yeah, damn shame someone marked it up. Maybe if you do some research you can figure out who that Dillinger person was.

You could get lucky and it has some historical value to someone.
