StrangeRanger
Has proof and flaming bomb markings with 3 grooves near muzzle to attach the heat shieldLooks authentic but I'll defer to the shotgun experts on that one https://www.gunbroker.com/item/887433636
Petroleum 1
The barrel looks parked / refinished ? The original finish on the stevens guns was a dull or satin bluing i believe. Otherwise it looks like the real deal.
TSMGguy
Right. The serial number places it firmly within the second serial number 620A range, with production after 1940 but during WWII, under government contract. It's a shame the rest of the gun is not present. Agree that the barrel has been over buffed, almost obliterating the markings. The original finish was a commercial looking blue.
Petroleum 1
This one has the cut outs in the barrel for the bayonet mount too. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/887557768
TSMGguy
This one has the cut outs in the barrel for the bayonet mount too. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/887557768It's a shame that the original bayonet mount was removed. This one's a candidate for a properly finished repro mount. Not a fan of the 520-30 because the safety bites your hand with every round fired.
