Stock and buttplate ser. numbers

I do check my Reising  stocks and buttplates for ser. number markings. A lot of time they do match each other. 

Do the records of the stock ser.numbers exist?

Have you seen all matching guns , when the markings  match on  the stock/buttstock and the receiver?

I did not know the SNs were listed in other places,, I don't know about the butt plate mine is covered with a butt pad, but I have not noticed anything on the stock. maybe I should look it over closely
