PATHFINDER
Holy crapin' crap! $65!!?? Go to At The Front and hit thier 'WEAPONS RELATED' page, then go to the 'BLANK ADAPTORS PAGE'. They have them for $29.00 http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif !! Hell at that price buy two and you will still be spending less than Nothridge is asking!! These ones I know to be hardened AND they look exactly like the MP-40 muzzle nut they are replacing. The 'At The Front' bfa's only have a pilot hole you need to ask your blank guy what size to drill it out to so his blanks will work. Joe Swanosn makes the best blanks by far. See the 'At The Front' links page to get his web address

junglewalk
http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif Jay; When you get Rollin's blank adaptor, use a small round file to enlarge the hole of the adaptor.....and file, on the range, the hole as you make your adjustmen......* With the adaptor off, fire live and mark with tape, the farthest point the charging handle goes to the rear...*Then with the adaptor on, fire a blank or two, and note where the charge handle moves to the most rearward point....* If to far back, begin to enlarge the hole with the small round file, and test again , repeat until the charge handle returns upon firing, to only the marked place when shooting live.......*** Fiocchi(?), makes a great SMG blank for 9mm, at about $10. per 50 rds.......They work well, and Fiocchi will always be there...Can call up Kessler's in So.Indiana for the blank....... By the way, I have blank adaptors for $30. for the MP-43-44; Anyone interested ??? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
PATHFINDER
QUOTE (junglewalk @ Oct 16 2004, 12:44 PM) By the way, I have blank adaptors for $30. for the MP-43-44; Anyone interested ??? What do they look like? The problem with starting out with the smallest hole and working up is that on the first shot you can over recoil the weapon. This can result is severe damage to the main spring/firing pin assmbely ie: the front of the two telescoping pieces can bend (flare) and lock the whole assembly up not allowing the main spring to return to full length. This leaves the bolt lose in the receiver. Also I have seen re-enactors run out of blanks and borrow some with different loads. thier BFA's were too small and wham! the trigger group was knocked right off of it's lugs and the diassembly pin hole was distorted.
