What type of ammo is everyone running/ran best in their Reising? Is it typically a picky eater? I have 2 unopened spam cans of WRA lot 22416...I think it's a 1945 headstamp. Don't know if I should use it....thanks for any responses! Happy New Year!

NEW1,

MY REISING IS NOT THAT PICKY,AND HANDLES THE WOLF STEEL CASE RDS JUST FINE.THEY MIGHT SHORTEN THE EXTRACTOR LIFE,BUT THAT IS A CHEAP,AND EASY TO REPLACE PART.YOUR 1945 WRA SHOULD STILL BE GOOD IN THE CAN,BUT REMEMBER THAT ALOT OF THAT STUFF USED CORROSIVE PRIMERS.

HAVE FUN!

I tried the wolf in my gun and the ejector broke within 200 rounds. I ended up having to get the gun to Paul Hayes for repair. Was it the fault of the ammo? I don't know. I do know that I will be sticking to brass case stuff from now on though.

I buy the 100 round value packs of Winchester at Walmart. It is right around $20 a box out the door.

If you reload,...230gr round nose ,over 5grs of Bullseye makes her purr like a kitten..other wise Whinchester Walmart is a good choice...but casting and reloading is the easiest on the Reising...you will never, ever wear a barrel out in you lifetime using cast lead bullets...45 is easy, fun and cheap to reload....good luck... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

I tried the new Wolf with grey polymer coating in my Reising M50. I couldn't get the first round out of the magazine? It just wouldn't slide. After "fiddling", I got one in the chamber and it dumped the whole mag. Loaded a second mag, same thing. Tried brass, no problem. I would have suspected a polymer coating would have made mag release easier. Or was I just having a bad day? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif Next, my M14 op rod began jumping out of track and the M16 choaked on old Wolf laquer build up. I went home after that! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif
