leid Posted October 4, 2005 Report Share Posted October 4, 2005 Hi Bill, The early M1918A2s had a wood stock but the plastic stock was found to be much stronger in the drop tests. Here is a picture of a wood A2 stock on George's WW2barman yahoo website under stocks. Note the lightning cut on the upper left side for operating handle clearance.
