snipershot1944
I have a question for the board. I have a Colt Nickle 1921 oiler with a damaged cap. Will the cap for the crinkle finish 21/28 oiler work as a substitute? Anybody know where I can find a 1921 or a 1921/1928 oiler cap? Thanks Snipershot1944@yahoo.com
gijive
Yes, it will. They are virtually identical. Original nickel oilers are had to find. They are seen on Ebay occasionally. Good luck. Better yet, Phil Askew (on this Board) has many hard to find Thompson parts. He may have what you are looking for.
snipershot1944
Thanks-where do I go to get a crinkle finish oiler cap? Any ideas? Sniper
gijive
International Military Antiques (IMA) may have the WWII crinkle finish type oilers. You may have to buy the whole oiler, but I don't believe they are that expensive. The WWII type oilers show up on Ebay fairly often.
TSMGguy
I've refinished brass oilers using black crinkle finish spray paint. It does a perfect job.
snipershot1944
All I need is an oiler cap. Just the cap. Not the oiler itself. Anybody???
