Suspect Fires Machine Gun In Nyc

Recommended Posts

I doubt this actually was a machinegun. Most likely some other "evil black gun". I don't know how many times I (and probably you also) have had to correct people on what and what is not a machinegun. The average person has little knowlege about firearms especially if the guns in question are not a off the rack shotguns etc. Within the past week or so I read a news article which stated "civilians are not allowed to possess machineguns".

I honestly believe some people go more by the color of the gun, than anything else, when it comes to determining what kind of gun it is. I'd guess the gun in this article could possible have been a semi-auto AK or SKS also. But a machinegun? I'm betting no, and I sure hope I'm right. Now is not the time for us to be drawing attention to the fact the civilians can own them. There's already talk of raising the transfer fee from $200 to $1000.

Can you give more info on this?

If it was a real M10 SMG, odds are it wasn't registered seeing as how this occured in New York City.

I wonder if it was an illegal conversion of an M10 semi-auto open bolt?
