  1. I have two parts sets I picked up a few years back. I was going over all of the wood, and I noticed an M stamped on one grip, and an S on another. I couldn't find any markings on either buttstock. Did Savage subcontract any of the parts or was everything made in house. Thanks, Danny.
  2. They both hold 2 15 rd mags. As Brian pointed out you have to look for the earler design type 1, as the type 2 has two smaller loops on the back. Type 1 was not designed to be placed on the stock, the soldiers who used it came up with that one on their own.
  3. If your looking for decent drums, try Yakooza power. He posts auctions on ebay and GB, sells a lot of mp44 parts as well.
  4. I don't know if anyone has had the opportunity to read "Foot soldier A combat infantryman's war in Europe" by Roscoe C Blunt, Jr. He goes on the decribe in deatil his first experience with an MP40. After a firefight he found one on the ground, picked it up and put a few rounds through a dirt mound. His Lt. screamed and said in less than 30 seconds he would have three grenades on top of him and the distinctive sound of the MP40. Later on he finds a TSMG slung on the arm of a dead tanker, he used for a day or two but eventually discarded it due to the weight. I am butchering the story I know, but it is an excellent read.
  5. And everyone made fun of my fu@kin name, now the nation will see what we have known for years.
  6. QUOTE (Buck Matheson @ Jan 2 2007, 03:10 AM) If I can not find one for sale I will end up sending in my deposit and waiting in line, but I am still hoping that someone out there has one thay want to part with... That was my feeling until I spoke to Madelan. I sent in the deposit last August, I've waited long enough.
  7. I also purchased a drum from this guy in August. It was postmarked N.J. It seems his brother sends him the parts from Poland. I too was suspicious , but I took a shot, after the sportsmansguide melee. He has a lot of mp44 stuff as well.
  8. QUOTE (Norm @ Dec 5 2006, 05:00 PM) QUOTE 1927 a-5 has no provision for a buttstock which makes it a pistol i belive they also have around a 13" barrel can i have one with a 10.5" barrel would it still be a pistol again no buttstock provision I don't think you can legally put a 10.5" barrel on a 27A5 pistol. This would bring the overall length below the min allowed on this gun. Since the 27A5 has a front grip, it must be at least 26 inches long. I could be wrong, but I think this is the way it is. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif Norm I don't think the length of the barrel matters if it is considered a pistol.I was told if you modify a '28 by removing the provisions in place to accomodate a buttstock, the 10.5" barrel is fine. I beleive 26" is the requirement set forth by the ATF for rifle/shotgun minumun length.
  9. It was a real MAC 10 SMG, and It cannot be registered as NYS has no Class 3/ SBR/NFA status.
  10. This is confirmed, suspect wielded a MAC 10, fired at police, they returned fire and he was struck in the head. Cops are both alright.
  11. I will ask around and post some info when I get it. I am also curious about this alleged machine gun.
  12. QUOTE (Roland, Headless Thompson Gunner @ Nov 6 2006, 02:46 PM) No bids, has been relisted with the same price. http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayi...itemnum=7709645 That drum has been up there for months with no bids.
  13. Tha barrel isn't the problem, I believe the original as well as these are 16.25 inches, within the legal limit of 16 inches. Many people have functioning semi mp44s but they are apprehensive about submitting them for approval, as the AT F can just deny and send back a torched bunch of parts. I don't think anyone wants that to happen.
  14. Would the stock with crossbolt be correct for this 28?
  15. Here are a few pics of the outside, http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i58/clintonlover/PICT0013.jpghttp://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i58/clintonlover/PICT0012.jpghttp://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i58/clintonlover/PICT0011.jpg
  16. Thanks Full Auto, is it as simple as flipping it over or does it looked fvcked from the photo?
  17. Hey is this the correct rotor / internals for a Bridgeport?http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i58/clintonlover/IMG_0387.jpg
  18. QUOTE (Mario Scarpino @ Sep 11 2006, 09:43 PM) That's easy clintonlover and you should not even have to ask. The most desired drum of all time is the highly limited production, non-functioning, AWB generation (Bill Clinton Special) X DRUM!!!! Seriously guys, be careful what you say and to whom. In the next round for the AWB, the most desirable drums will be at the top of Hitlery's, or DiFi or chuckies list. Why give the anti-gunners any info at all??????? I live in N.Y. , not the greatest state to reside in if you are a collector of firearms. I am also a Police Officer and find it increasingly frustrating that our individual freedoms protected under the the second ammendment are slowly being degrated to the point where you are treated like a criminal or a gun nut if you want to legally own a firearm. It was this very problem that brought me to choose the sarcastic moniker I now use. I am new to the world of collecting, only about three years in so far. Like many of you I realize the importance of books and reference material, and I would like to thank Frank and Nick for a great forum, there is no other forum on the net that contains this much knowledge and insight in regards to the TSMG and it's ancillaries. Thanks again, Mario Scarpino's comments are like that of the ignorant, in his 39 posts he has never asked an important question, or given a knowledgeable answer as mike hammer has done foe me. All of his posts are mere dribble. If someone like him cannot comprehend the concept of sarcasm, them I think the last thing he should be handling are firearms. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/nutkick.gif
  19. Thanks for the info Mike, I have the opportunioty to pick up either a Bridgeport or Seymour, but I may just wind up buying both. I know Frank was selling blem copies of hie book a few months back, need to see if he has any left.
